Speak Up London:
Located on Oxford Street in the heart of Central London, Speak Up London is an English language school providing high-quality lessons for beginner to advanced level students with qualified and native-speaking teachers. Classes include General and Intensive English courses, speaking and conversation classes, and Cambridge English exam preparation programs for both the First Certificate in English (FCE), and Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) exams.
Beginner to Advanced Level English Language Courses:
General English Courses:These English language courses cover speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, naturally including grammar and vocabulary. The main emphasis of these courses is on practical communication to build up your vocabulary and help to develop fluency and confidence.
General English:
Our classes are usually small, which means that your teacher can give you the personal attention you need. Participants are given plenty of opportunities to practice spoken English language through discussions, debates and conversation activities, such as role-play and pair work. Features include:

- Minimum proficiency level: Beginners (A1),
- Class size average: 10, maximum 14
- Lessons per week: 10 lessons – 2.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday

Intensive English:
These courses are designed to allow the student to improve their English in the shortest time possible. You will be attending two classes per day and will be covering different material in each class. They will be a combination of either the same level at two different times or a combination of a lower level and a higher level. This is designed after completion of your placement test to see which option would be of most benefit to you. Features include:
- Course duration: 1 to 42 weeks - 3 weeks minimum recommended
- Minimum proficiency level: Beginners (A1),
- Class size average: 10, maximum 14
- Lessons per week: 10 lessons – 5 hours per day, Monday to Friday
- Lesson duration: 145 minutes
Cambridge English Exam Preparation Courses:
First Certificate in English (FCE)
The Cambridge First Certificate is an exam which tests English at an Upper-Intermediate level. The exam covers writing, reading, grammar, listening and speaking. This course will prepare you for all parts of the exam.
In addition, you will do a lot of work on areas of general English, so you wont spend all of your time doing practice exams! At the end of the course we want you to pass the exam, but we also want you to have learned a lot of English, and to have enjoyed your stay.
- Course duration:1 to 42 weeks - 12 weeks minimum recommended
- Minimum proficiency level: Upper-Intermediate (B2)
- Class size: average 10, maximum 14
- Lessons per week: 5 lessons – 2.5 hours per day. Monday to Friday
- Class times: 9.00am – 11.30 am
- Lesson duration: 145 minutes
Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)
The Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English is an exam that tests English at an Advanced level. It is a practical course relating to the world of work, rather than academic purposes. To gain entry to the course, you should have achieved a level of English equivalent to Grade C or above at First Certificate level (TOEFL level at least 500 points).
All students who apply to the course will be given a test to decide if their starting level is appropriate. The exam covers writing, reading, grammar, listening and speaking, and the course will prepare you for all parts of the exam. Features include:
- Course duration:1 to 42 weeks - 12 weeks minimum recommended
- Minimum proficiency level: Upper-Intermediate (B2)
- Class size: average 10, maximum 14
- Lessons per week: 5 lessons – 2.5 hours per day. Monday to Friday
- Class times: 2.00pm – 4.30 pm
- Lesson duration: 145 minutes
English Speaking and Conversation Courses:
Speaking English & Pronunciation Program is for intermediate to advanced English language learners. In each session, participants will discuss items such as reading, work with vocabulary, become familiar with idioms and less formal language, explore ideas, and make short presentations. The instructor will review certain grammar points; however, the primary focus is on increasing confidence and fluency in English, while speaking about a wide range of interesting topics. Course includes:
- Intermediate to Advanced levels
- 1-42 week course options
- Speak like a true native English speaker
