The Academy of Music & Sound is the South of England's leading instrument specific music school. Located in Southampton (75 miles south west of London), we offer Business and Technology Education Council (BTEC) Apprenticeship, Diploma and Degree courses for teens and adults from 16 years. We also give our students the opportunity to complete a professional qualification with Pro Tools 101 Certification. At the Academy of Music & Sound, you will learn from musicians who teach and not just music teachers. There is a big difference! We draw from a huge network of musicians from around the country and are very careful to place the right people in front of our students.
BTEC L3 Subsidary Diploma Music Technology inc. Pro Tools 101 Certification:
This Diploma will teach musicians, songwriters, MCs and DJs how to record their music using the Industry platform Pro Tools and then allow them market and sell their music online. This course will also teach them how to work as a freelancer in the music industry. They will also gain valuable Keyboard skills as well as being given the opportunity to complete a professional qualification with Pro Tools 101 Certification.
Level 3 Music Business Apprenticeship with Daylight Music Productions:
This course will see Apprentices being employed by Record Company Daylight Music Productions who are looking to sign and develop a number of acts over the next 9 months. The apprentices will be talent scouting in Southampton, signing the acts, arranging and attending recording sessions with their act, building up an interest through social media sites, arranging events, arranging a tour and touring with their artist. Students have the opportunity to earn a full time position with Daylight Music at the end of the Apprenticeship.
BTEC L2 / L3 Diploma / Extended Diploma in Music:
These courses prepare the students for life as a working musician in the industry. They will be taught weekly lessons on their instrument, in instrument specific classes, Music Theory, Music performance and improvisation, Music Technology and Recording as well as arranging, composing and lyric writing.
Foundation Degree / BA Hons Degree:
This course will build on the techniques learnt during the BTEC level 3 course and challenge the students to produce professional quality products including events, recordings and performances. They will also be taught about teaching music and will gain a recognised teaching qualification as part of their Degree.
