- CELTA Course:The CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) qualification is recognised throughout the world and is a pre-requisite to teach in many institutions in Australia and overseas. It provides a qualification for teachers without previous training, little or no experience as a language teacher, or without a NEAS (National ELICOS Accreditation Scheme) recognised English language teaching qualification. Our CELTA courses are available all year round and can be taken full-time (4 weeks / 120 hours) part-time (10 weeks) or online-blended (2 weeks teaching practice).
- Delta Course Modules:The Cambridge Delta is an internationally recognised TEFL qualification for experienced teachers of English wanting to open up career avenues to more senior ELT posts for which the Delta is invariably required.
Our tutors in Perth are all practising teachers of English who divide their time between teaching and teacher training. They are highly qualified and experienced both as teachers and trainers and themselves take part in ongoing training programmes, such as attending conferences and in-house development sessions, in order to keep abreast of the cutting edge of the ELT profession.
All trainers at the training centre in Perth undergo a rigorous selection and training process that is monitored by Cambridge University. They have all been accepted by UCLES (University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate) after having undergone an extensive trainer-in-training programme. The tutors have worked internationally and bring a wide range of key experience, qualifications and knowledge to the course.
Accreditation:
The center was accredited as a Cambridge University ESOL Teacher Training Centre in 1997 to offer both the CELTA Certificate and the Delta.
"The CELTA course has prepared me to be a better teacher by breaking the tasks down into very definite areas, both in terms of lesson planning, language and knowledge. We had plenty of teaching practice and got very thorough feedback. I really enjoyed the classes we took with the lecturers. They were well planned, well paced, interactive and relevant, with plenty of opportunity to speak out as a student. I also found the CELTA trainers to be very knowledgeable, pleasant and organised. They were very supportive and energetic." - Julie Durant - CELTA Course / Perth
"I would definitely recommend the Perth CELTA Training Centre as a place to study the CELTA certificate. The staff are friendly and the students you teach are fun. It’s a nice, positive environment and the location is also great, with easy access to the city and really good facilities. The experience and qualification I have gained will help me start a career in teaching English as a second language." - Lisette Payne - CELTA Course / Perth
