StudyCELTA is a dynamic team of professionals that has been providing English language teacher training since 1999. We offer University of Camrbidge teacher training programs including the world-renowned CELTA course in Vancouver, British Columbia. The courses are offered through our partner training centres in Vancouver. Our CELTA courses are available year-round, and can only be taken full-time over 4 weeks.

CELTA English Teacher Training Certificate:
- Duration: 4-weeks

Our one month intensive CELTA course provides training for those new to the profession, and for those teachers with experience but with little formal training.  The course is designed to enable candidates to:

- Develop basic skills for teaching adults in the language classroom.

- Develop familiarity with the principles and practice of effective teaching to adult learners of English.

- Develop an awareness of language and a knowledge of the description of English and apply these in professional practice.

- Develop familiarity with appropriate resources and materials for use with adult learners of English for teaching, testing and referencing.

- Develop an understanding of the contexts within which adults learn English, their motivations and the roles of the teacher and the learner.

- Identify opportunities for their own future development in the field.

Modules / Learning Units include:
- Learners and teachers, and the teaching and learning context
- Language skills: reading, listening, speaking and writing

Teaching Practice:
Participants teach for a total of 6 hours, working with classes at two different  levels of ability.

Assessment:
Candidates are assessed primarily in the areas of:

- Teaching practice (each assessed lesson is given a grade)
- Written assignments

To be awarded the certificate you must pass both components. There are three grades — Pass, Pass ‘B’ and Pass ‘A’. The assessment of CELTA is continuous and integrated - there is no final exam.

Delta Course Modules:
Delta is the Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. It is the most well known and the most popular advanced ESL qualification in the world and is accredited by the University of Cambridge. Most people take the Delta to advance their career to the next level.

Delta is made up of three independent modules to provide maximum flexibility. At the teacher training centre, we offer an intensive 10-week course which covers all three modules at one time. However, candidates seeking to take just one module at a time may do so.

The integrated Delta is an intensive course designed to maximise your time and to thoroughly prepare candidates for all three modules. The integrated course is entirely face-to-face in Vancouver and consists of,

Full-time course with over 200 contact hours over 10 weeks
Held from Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm
4 hours of assessed teaching practice of real students at two different levels including an externally assessed lesson by Cambridge
10 hours of unassessed teaching practice
10 hours observing other experienced teachers
