TEFL Corinth:
TEFL Corinth is based in Corinth, Greece, 50 miles west of Athens. Our TEFL course is one of the most thorough and up-to-date in the world today. Including 120 hours of expert tuition and 10 hours of teaching practice, the TEFL course exceeds international standards for TEFL certification. TEFL Certificate Course:

The course is essentially practical in nature, with just enough theory to provide sound principles on which to base your practice. In the morning, there are input sessions on the skills and methods of teaching and on language awareness. The afternoon consists of guided lesson preparation, teaching practice observed by a trainer, and feedback on your teaching.

The course consists of two main components:

1. Three hours of input sessions each morning, covering:

A. Teaching Skills & Classroom Management

This element of the course develops your skills in areas such as teaching grammar and vocabulary, creating your own materials and correcting students’ errors. Classroom Management also includes managing resource materials, classroom arrangement, giving instructions, maintaining discipline, the role of student and teacher.

B. Language Awareness
This section of the course aims to consolidate your knowledge of grammar and phonology, and provide practical ideas as to how these can be taught.

2. Teaching Practice:

A. Three hours of guided lesson planning each afternoon. Working with the guidance of the trainers, you prepare for the lessons that you will be teaching.

B. Teaching Practice each evening: Teaching practice is the most practical and important element of the TEFL course. You will be teaching Greek students of English - individuals or small groups, classes, adults and children. You will be able to put into practice the skills learnt on the course. Each lesson is observed by one of the trainers, who gives you detailed written feedback.

C. After each lesson, you will have a discussion with your trainer who will offer feedback and suggest areas that may require attention. You can observe your peers teaching on the days you are not teaching yourself.

3. Observation of experienced teachers:
For the first two evenings of the course, you will observe the trainers teaching English to local Greek students. From the third evening, you will be teaching the students yourself.

4. Unknown Language
To help you to understand the experience of learing a totally new language through the medium of that language, we teach our students an unknown foreign language. The language taught is usually Greek unless you know some Greek already, in which case an alternative language will be chosen.

5. Job Guidance in group and individual sessions.

6. Individual sessions each week where you discuss your progress with the course director.
