The West Suburban Chinese Language School in Elmhurst was founded 1978, by Chinese families living in eastern DuPage County, Illinois, for the purpose of teaching Chinese language (Mandarin) and Chinese culture to young people. It is a non-profit organization, funded primarily by participating members and families. We are located approximately 20 miles from downtown Chicago.
In addition, all members are required to volunteer time and services for various school activities. Over the years, the school has developed into a quality language and culture center, equipped to serve all residents in the area regardless of age or ethnicity. The school is a member of the Midwest Chinese Language School Association.

Mother Nature Language Center is a Chinese language and culture school located near the WaMu Center and Central Business District in downtown Seattle, Washington. The school was founded in 2007 by Mr. Wen-Wu Liu. We offer small classes and private lessons ranging from absolute beginner to intensive courses for those who want a serious study of the language. We also offer business Chinese courses suited to professionals who need to visit China for work, both at our school and on-site.
We believe in a comprehensive approach to language teaching that includes cultural context and key historical background to help you understand not just the words, but also the settings in which you will use Chinese. Through our Mandarin program, you can develop a functional knowledge of the most widely used dialect of the Chinese language and knowledge of Chinese culture. At Washington Academy of Languages situated in downtown Seattle, we offer Mandarin Chinese programs. The basic approach of our programs is to emphasize the use of practical spoken Chinese. The program prepares the student with the skills needed to function in China. By focusing on practical language usage, students are able to actively participate in situations which they can expect to encounter in their travels. Throughout the course, listening and speaking are stressed and the student has ample opportunity to take part in classroom discussions.
The small class size also promotes this opportunity and allows the instructor to give individual attention to each student. Each class session is divided into two distinct parts: communicative and explanatory. The communicative segment is the substance of the course. It consists of conversations about common situations among individuals, problem-solving activities, and spontaneous discussions. The explanatory segment consists of grammar explanation, pronunciation practice and exercises.
