Thank you for taking the time to review my listing. Based at my home studio in East Valley, Chandler AZ (ZIP 85226), I’m a professional, classically-trained guitar instructor for young and older adults, children, and retirement age students. I first arrived in the Greater Phoenix Metro Area in 1996 after earning my Bachelor of Music in Music Education, with Magna Cum Laude Honors, from Shenandoah University Conservatory, where I studied classical guitar, jazz guitar, violin, piano, music theory, psychology, and many other related subjects. I have been providing quality music instruction to my students for over 25 years now. I offer training techniques for both acoustic and electric (steel and/or nylon string) instruments for popular music styles as well as formal classical guitar.
Certified Music Educator:
• I'm a Certified Music Educator with over 25 years of experience. I instruct beginners as well as experienced players.
• I offer instruction for acoustic guitar as well as electric guitar (steel and/or nylon string) and provide instruction in formal classical guitar, as well as popular music styles such as: rock, pop, blues, jazz, funk, soul, and more.
• I earned a Bachelor of Music Education with Magna Cum Laude Honors in 1996. I've studied classical guitar, jazz guitar, improvisation, music theory, arranging, psychology, piano, violin, recording, and much more. I have over 25 years of teaching experience. I have performed solo, in rock bands, blues and jazz combos, duos, trios, and classical guitar ensembles.
• My current students include young and older adults, children, and retirement age students.
• My instruction involves healthy, ergonomic, efficient, time-tested playing techniques combined with customized lesson plans, including original instructional materials, established texts, theoretical education, and material chosen by the student.
• I strive to provide a friendly, comfortable learning environment students can thrive in. I won't pressure you to play recitals in order to increase my studio size, but I will greatly encourage you to play an active role in customizing your own individual curriculum. As soon as you have the skills, you should be learning to play the music you love.

Our downtown campus is directly on the Powell Street BART and Muni lines, and close to affordable parking.Designed for students who want to gain a solid foundation in the music business and/or recording industry, this program offers a comprehensive education in all aspects of the music business.
