The Italian Cultural Society of Washington, DC, Inc.:
Located in Bethesda MD, The Italian Cultural Society of Washington aims to enhance the appreciation and knowledge of the Italian language and culture in the Washington, DC area. We provide an Italian Language Program (ILP) which includes a variety of Italian classes for children, teenagers and adults. Our Italian instruction is uniquely structured so that each course is designed around the specific needs and interests of the participants in each class. All of our teachers are native Italian speakers and are experienced in teaching Italian as a second language.

Italian Classes for Kids & Teens:

Beginning Italian for Kids (ages 6-10)
Class Schedule: Friday 4:00 pm 6:00 pm
In this class, the children will speak, read and write using traditional methods, but also will learn by playing and moving, using the Total Physical Response approach for teaching language developed by Professor James Asher. They will learn Italian traditions by creating artwork, singing songs, and watching videos, etc. some English spoken to start them off and at times to explain concepts they may have trouble understanding in Italian.

Italian for ages 4-6 (non-beginners)
Class Schedule: Tuesday 4:00 pm-6:00 pm; Saturday 11:30 am-1:00 pm
These classes are designed for young children who can understand Italian spoken to them, but who cannot readily respond in Italian and for whom it is not their first language.


Italian for ages 7-10 (non-beginners)
Class Schedule: Saturday 9:30 am-11:30 am; Tuesday 4:00 pm-6:00 pm
These classes are designed for elementary school children who can understand Italian spoken to them, but who cannot readily respond in Italian and for whom it is not their first language.

Italian for Middle School Students (ages 11-13)
These classes are designed for middle school children who can understand Italian spoken to them, but who cannot readily respond in Italian and for whom it is not their first language.

Italian for High School Students
Class Schedule: Thursday, 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm
In this class, high school students will be introduced to Italian culture while learning grammar and developing comprehension and speaking skills.

We also provide a wide variety of Italian language courses for adults.

Let your child become immersed in the Spanish language! Creative Acts Learning Center, in Washington DC, provides 6-week Spanish language immersion courses for parents and children (ages 3-5) and older kids (ages 6-9).

Children engage in immersive activities; learning topics such as colors, clothing, food, body parts, traditions, and Spanish greetings and customs specific to a selected Spanish-speaking country.

Turning Winds Academic Institute (TWAI)

Located in northwestern Montana, Turning Winds Academic Institute (TWAI) is an accredited, family-run, therapeutic boarding school for troubled teens (boys & girls) ages 13-18.

We welcome students from Washington DC, across the U.S., and students from around the world (TWAI is authorized to issue 1-20's for international students).

In our beautiful, peaceful, and safe location, we combine the benefits of a therapeutic boarding school, a wilderness program, and a residential treatment center (RTC).

TWAI has been serving struggling teens and their families since 2002, with an exceptional degree of success.

We create a customized program for each student that requires a minimum of 3 months. However, best results for lasting success are realized through 6+ months of treatment.

TWAI graduates average a 3.5 GPA. It is common for a student to complete 1.5 years of course work in 1 year.
