FITS Europe: The Düsseldorf location is in the heart of Europe and therefore ideal for the European focus of our programs. Major cities like Paris, Amsterdam, Zurich, Brussels, Berlin, Strasbourg and Munich are about five hours away by train.
Due to many media and film oriented businesses and enterprises that have settled in the region of the Rhineland, the students will benefit from the close proximity to important organizations and production sites, as well as universities offering media and film courses. As the city claims, “The facilities and condition are perfect for filmmaking: Düsseldorf is a media location with a wide range of creative and artistic and technical craftsmen, from production managers to directors, from lighting specialists, casting experts to subtitling specialists. Studio capacity, high-tech equipment and complementary sectors essentials for filmmaking are available.”
But the city of Düsseldorf is not only known for its splendid opportunities in filmmaking and TV production, but also offers a wide range of cultural highlights, such as a plentitude of museums, theaters and smaller venues, providing all sorts of entertainment and cultural insights. The old part of the city called “Altstadt” has its own particular flair, with small shops and eateries, pubs and nightclubs. Right around the corner the modern shopping and business center (outdoors!) stretches along several miles, and offers all kinds of cultural aspects and distractions.
