Each troubled teen is involved in daily therapeutic programs administered by our Christian counselors and staff.
Academics at Heartlight - Helping Your Teen Excel Academics is an important component in the life of every teen resident in the Heartlight boarding school. Due to behavioral problems, many of our residents are behind in their schoolwork, so we work hard to help them get caught up. We offer positive encouragement and tutoring when necessary.
Later in their stay at Heartlight (after they have have moved up in the Level System and have shown they can be trusted to be off site) residents are allowed to attend the local high school as a transition to normal life.
Hallsville High School, an excellent 4-A school located three miles from Heartlight, provides an excellent opportunity for social interaction in an academic setting while working through the Heartlight program. Our staff takes the students to school and picks them up, as well as interacting with school adminstration and teachers as necessary. More about the town of Hallsville.
Newer residents and those with ongoing behavioral problems are schooled on campus utilizing an administrated Texas Tech correspondence curriculum program. Close attention by our educational coaches is given to insure that credits are completed and all time spent in studies receives full credit and is also transferable back to the resident's home school.
