Transitional Boarding School in Utah
Mountain Springs Preparatory Academy:
Located in Cedar City, Iron County UT, 250 miles south of Salt Lake City, Mountain Springs Preparatory Academy (MSPA) is a transitional boarding school for boys & girls ages 14-18, who are transitioning from a residential treatment center (RTC) or wilderness program in need of a safe environment to practice the new skills that that they have learned.
Mission Statement:
Transitioning students from a treatment environment back into society by creating opportunities for choice in order to assess progress and foster internal change.
MSPA is not a therapeutic boarding school but therapy is available from trained professionals in the community who work with MSPA and understand our unique mission and philosophy. MSPA is focused on helping students acclimate back into society.
Family Involvement:
Unlike traditional boarding schools, parents are very involved at Mountain Springs Preparatory Academy. Because Mountain Springs is usually the step immediately prior to a student returning home, parents must be involved extensively in every aspect of the program of their son or daughter. Parents play a key role in helping determine initially what skills and principles are most important for their son or daughter.

Established in 2002, Turning Winds Academic Institute (TWAI) is a leading therapeutic boarding school in Montana for troubled teen boys & girls ages 13-18.We combine the benefits of a therapeutic boarding school, a wilderness program, and a residential treatment center (RTC) on our beautiful and safe 150 acre campus.
We provide an extremely high standard of therapeutic treatment to students across the U.S. & students from around the world (TWAI is authorized to issue 1-20's for international students).
We offer help to teenagers who present with the following issues: poor academic performance, behavioral problems, addictions, low self-worth, spectrum disorders, ADD/ADHD, and attachment disorders.
We are accredited by National Independent Private Schools Association (NIPPSA) and Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC).
We are a small program (40 students) which means that we can provide a truly unique and customized approach for every student.

Typically our student to staff ratio is 5:1. The average stay at our residential treatment center is 12 months.

Located in Ogden, Utah, Crossroads Academy is a therapeutic boarding school for young men aged 16 and 17 years old who have experienced substance abuse with diagnoses of oppositional defiant disorder, mood disorders and ADHD and learning disorders. Sundance Canyon Academy, located in Herriman, southwestern Salt Lake County, Utah, is a therapeutic boarding school for boys between the ages of 13-17 years. Academics is foremost in the interest of many of our students. Located in beautiful Spanish Fork, 60 miles south of Salt Lake City, Utah, New Haven is part of InnerChange, a family of programs that provide education, treatment, and recovery for adolescent girls and young women.
