About Us:

At Heritage, we want our children to grow into independent problem solvers and caring, responsible citizens. The teacher prepares the environment to a high degree of perfection with a series of sequential, manipulative and sensorial materials that ultimately bridge the gap between concrete and abstract learning. The teacher is a link between these materials and the child. With a great understanding of human development, the teacher observes each child, reflects upon his / her observations and individualizes the curriculum.

Heritage Montessori staff are creative, caring, educated, and enthusiastic about what they do. We offer safe and exciting environments. The physical space in which our programs take place is one of the most important contributors to our success, second only to the quality of our staff.

Our Mission:

Heritage Montessori School, guided by Dr. Montessori's philosophy and current best practices in education, cultivates the full human potential of each child in a caring, peaceful environment.

- We serve the child's intellectual, social, emotional, and physical needs.

- We partner with parents to develop the child's independence, responsibility, respect, self-confidence and cultivate a love of learning.

- We inspire and support our staff to evolve as Montessorians.

Montessori Method:
The Montessori Method has been time-tested for over 100 years and has achieved worldwide success. Montessori is taught in a very different way than the vast majority of us experienced in our school years. Our belief as an authentic Montessori school is to allow a child to learn and grow at his own pace, no matter how quickly or slowly that may be.

Academic Standards:
Our children test, on average, approximately two years above grade level. That does not mean every child in every area. All of our children are addressed where they are, in the way they learn best, so that they may flourish to the best of their developmental stage and capacity.

The classrooms are oversized, bright, and cheerful. Parent Testimonials::

" We would like to take this opportunity to thank the teachers at Heritage Montessori. We are amazed at Franklin's academic progress at Heritage. At four and a half, he is already doing addition and reading phonics. He also developed very good interpersonal skills and makes friends easily. Franklin told us he likes going to school and his teachers ."

" The degree of excellence in dealing with what one can only imagine to be an extraordinarily difficult situation is exactly what I've come to know and expect from one of the most talented, intelligent, patient, understanding- probably the best teacher a child ever had and certainly the best friend a worried parent ever had, Miss Millie. "

" Thank you for one of the best school years my son has ever had! I gave you a less than motivated student who was behind by the public school's standards and you gave me an enthusiastic, bright student who loved school again "
