Educational Programs (Preschool through Grade 8)
Pre-School & Montessori Programs (For ages 3 - 4 years):
The Pre-school follows the guidelines of the Montessori Method, an approach to early childhood education developed by Dr. Maria Montessori. In this method of “whole child” development, order and structure are stressed. Yet the children are given some choices in their activities, which include Sensorial Development, Practical Life Activities, Reading and Math Skills.
Kindergarten Programs:
The Kindergarten continues the Pre-School philosophy of child development and readiness. It is a time for developing. The Kindergarten’s purpose is to prepare the child for a successful First Grade and beyond.
Elementary School Programs:
The Elementary School includes grades 1 through 5. In grades 1 and 2, teachers work together closely, observing and guiding development in the areas of phonics, decoding and other basic reading skills, as well as basic math concepts. Before leaving the second grade, basic skills and basic English language development should be mastered.
Grades 3, 4, and 5 introduce the child to new levels of comprehension and synthesis in the areas of language and mathematics, in preparation for the Middle School. History and Geography are added to the curriculum.
Middle School Programs:
Grades 6, 7 and 8 are preparation for High School. Any deficiencies in basic skills and study skills are made-up at this time. A “problem solving” approach is initiated in all areas of learning. A great deal of factual information is presented as opportunities for additional growth in social disciplines and in maturing for higher education.
* Resource programs include: Music; Physical Education; Computers & Sacred Study
* Additionally: Before & afterschool care programs
