With private (one on one), semi- private (max. 2 students) or mini group classes (3 people max) our school offers the ultimate customized program in Costa Rica, you wil not be cramped with other students, in this you get the guarantee that your time and money are well invested.

Spanish Programs in San Jose, Costa Rica:
Personalized Spanish offers different program options as well as the flexibility to add additional hours of private class time. You decide what will best meet your goals. Have your classes in a group with other students, or choose private classes. Take four hours of class each day or choose six. You can even add extra hours on the weekends, holidays or in the evening if you want. It's totally up to you.

Mini-Group Spanish Classes (4 hours per day):
Study Spanish in a group of 1 - 3 students. Classes are personalized to meet the needs of the students in the group. Class groups may change week to week and are organized based on the student's levels and personal needs.

Semi-Private Spanish Lessons (4 hours per day):
Study Spanish in a group no more than 2 students. Given our intent to find the best group placement for our students, there may be weeks when a student who has signed up for group classes is placed in one-on-one classes at no additional charge. If this occurs, there is no guarantee as to whether the student will remain in private classes during future weeks.

Private Spanish Lessons (4 hours per day):
While Personalized Spanish personalizes all of its programs to meet its students' needs, there is no better way to guarantee 100% of the attention and complete personalization than by signing up for our Guaranteed Private program. Your class may meet in the morning or in the afternoon, but either way, you will have four hours one-on-one with your instructor.

Private Spanish Instruction (6 hours per day):
This program adds 2 additional hours of private instruction to the Guaranteed Private program, giving you 6 hours all to yourself, every day, broken into 4 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon.

Mini-group Spanish Classes (4 hours) combined with Private Spanish Lessons (2 hours):
You'll be surprised at how quickly 4 hours of a class can pass by while having fun learning Spanish. Many students find it very useful to have an additional 2 hours of private classes each day. You can use them for the extra conversational time; grammar review; focus on job-specific vocabulary and phrases; going on instructor-accompanied field trips ranging from going to the grocery store to visiting a business and having the opportunity to talk to Costa Rican's in your field.

Spanish online classes via Skype:
Whether you are just a beginner starting your first online Spanish course or an advanced learner hoping to perfect your Spanish, online Spanish classes with our expert teachers are the faster way to gain confidence in your Spanish. From your house or office without leaving your country.

Spanish for Healthcare Program:
The Spanish for Healthcare course is designed to provide healthcare practitioners with effective language skills so that they can communicate effectively and confidently with their patients and/or their caretakers in Spanish. Emphasis will be on oral communications. For this program, we recommend a minimum of 2 weeks Spanish study.

The course starts with a week-long classroom language instructions at Personalized Spanish with specialized vocabulary for the profession. Starting from the second week of class, the students may elect to conduct interviews with their Costa Rican peers and to visit local clinics and hospitals to experience first-hand how the language is used in their profession. The school will be able to arrange such interviews and visits for the students.

Spanish for Business and Law Program:
The Spanish for Business & Law program includes classes designed to concentrate on the language used by international workers, MBA students, managers and the like. Visits to business institutions that are of interest to the class can also be organized. The materials used in this class can be readily applied in the workplace. In addition to language acquisition, the students will also learn a great deal about the Costa Rican legal and economic systems.

This program is ideal for students who have little time available and want to maximize it. Before your arrival to Costa Rica, we will assess your needs and tailor a personalized program to meet them.

Spanish for families:
If you are planning to travel with your children, you are welcome to have them attend the school and learn Spanish at the same time. The program is specially tailored for families with children (under 12 years old) and teenagers (13-17 years old) whose parents are studying at Personalized Spanish.

Customized program for groups:
We can design a customized program to satisfy your group's needs. Whether it be a group of high school students, a group of old friends having a reunion, or any other type of group. We will work with you to create a Maximum Costa Rican Experience.

Spanish Pronto!
If you are traveling, on a business trip or for a medical treatment and you don't have enough time to study in a regular program, THIS IS THE RIGHT PROGRAM FOR YOU! The one or two day Spanish Pronto will provide you with the handy linguistic and cultural tools to communicate in Spanish and get around during your stay in our country.

Spanish for expats and Costa Rican residents:
A program designed for expats and short-term Costa Rican residents. Expats and short time residents have busy lives, however learning Spanish is a very useful and necessary tool when you live here. Our resident's program is personalized in stages according to your needs. When designing this program for our students, we take into account a flexible schedule, adequate materials, class locations, and cultural information.

Spanish Internship Programs:
Internship programs run all year long and last 10 weeks each. They include 4 weeks of intensive Spanish classes and a 5-week structured internship in a Latino working environment. Upon completion of the five-week internship, the participants will return to the Institute for a week to compile a final written report (in Spanish) and prepare to present their report to their peers and teachers.

This internship program is designed for participants who have at least 1 year of college Spanish or its equivalent. The four-week intensive Spanish classes at the first stage of the program expect that the participants arrive with a good working knowledge of Spanish. This is so structured to ensure that the participants will have sufficient Spanish language skills to carry out meaningful work in the field. No previous work experience is required to participate in this program.
