Skerries Music Studio:
Skerries Music Studio provides a wide range of music classes including singing lessons, guitar lessons, theory classes, music grinds and music appreciation sessions to primary, secondary and third level students. Music classes are also offered for adults. The Music Studio is based in Skerries, North County Dublin, 5 minutes walk from the train station and on the local bus route. We are half an hour from Dublin and 25 minutes from Drogheda. Music classes are provided by a professionally trained singer, who is an active performer, fully qualified secondary teacher and vocal coach.
Music Classes:
Music classes for primary, secondary and third level students (Age 8 years through to adult, all levels and all voice types).
Singing Lessons / Vocal Coaching:
Groups age 8 - 11 years (max 4 in group):
- Focus: Ear training / rhythm / pitch / the art of communicating the story behind the song confidence building / singing like you mean it.
Individuals age 12 years - adults:
- Focus: Breathing / posture / technique / performance / repertoire (exams catered for upon request)
- Competition entry dependent upon the level.
- Complete beginners catered for as well as experienced singers
Guitar Lessons:
Groups 7 - 8 years / 9 - 10 years /11 - 14 years (max 6 in group):
- Focus: Finding your way around the guitar / basic chords / simple strumming styles / easy finger picking styles / with a view to accompanying party sing songs.
Music Theory Classes:
Groups all ages (max 6 in group):
- Regardless of which instrument you decide to learn, the ability to read music, count beats / rhythm will increase your overall musicality.
- Group theory lessons are fun and educational and will equip you with the skills required to achieve your full potential as a musician.
Music Grinds:
Individuals:
- Focus: Musical theory / history / guidance in choosing singing repertoire
Music Appreciation Sessions:
Groups teens – adults (max 4 in group):
Have you ever wanted to tell the difference between Beethoven and Bach, Mozart and Monteverdi? This course takes a look at music and its origins, following the development of styles and the most influential composers of each era. Brief history of composer’s lives and listening to / discussing their works.
