En Famille International:
En Famille International, located in Salignac (near Bordeaux), France, is an organisation offering high quality long term student exchange programs between France and other countries. Since 1978 we have been organising six-month cultural exchanges for young children. The two children spend a year together, 6 months in their own country and 6 months in their exchange partner's country.
A team of enthusiastic volunteers and highly motivated parents (and children) who work to help other families. The founder of this unique organization is still very much involved in its operation.
UNSE (Union Nationale des organisations de Séjours longue durée à l'Etranger):
We are a member of the UNSE (Union Nationale des organisations de Séjours longue durée à l'Etranger) - a well-known French body that groups together selected organisations that deal with high quality long term exchanges.
Reliability & Guarantees:
Our reliability comes from our experience, it is our history.
- The founder (a French English teacher) and his British wife are both still very much involved within our association.
- We have built our programme up gradually, learning from each little problem in turn. We have the 'mechanics' of exchanges well under control and things run smoothly.
- At least two members of our organisation meet all the children and their parents in the different countries concerned before doing the 'matchings'.
- Local Representatives meet new families in their homes and send us a report. The Local Representatives are families who have already completed an exchange. They are not paid for visiting families and do it in their own free time.
- Schools are also involved and each head sends us a report.
- Our Application form is the fruit of more than 30 years experience. A long form similar to the one that you will complete will also be completed, or already has been completed by your future exchange family.
- People from all walks of life work together on our Administrative Committee. The committee members are elected and come to help us. They have no financial benefit, they are volunteers.
- We have educationalists dealing with education and other specialists for accounts, insurance and legal matters.
- It is the children who are of prime importance in our association, not the adults. We work with the interests of children as our most important consideration.
- Six-month linguistic & cultural exchanges for young children aged 9 to 13. We offer exchanges between France, Canada, Spain, Germany, England, Ireland, USA & Australia.
