An IB world school and certified by the Cambridge International Examsboard, BBS is an accredited member of COBIS (Council Of British International Schools) and ECIS (European Council Of International Schools).

The school accepts applications for admission at any time in the academic year and any level of entry except at the start of or during Year 11 (10th Grade) and 13 (12th Grade). The language of instruction is English, with German tuition provided for native and non native speakers. BBS provides individual attention in small classes.

Our international teaching body is highly motivated and specialised in delivering the curriculum and consists of almost 100% English native speakers. Our teaching programme is based on a selection of the best parts of the English National Curriculum with due amendments made in recognition of our international setting and our location in the capital of Germany.

Berlin British School also believes in the holistic approach to education and that extracurricular activities help build self-esteem, respect and long-lasting friendships. Berlin British School is the only school in Berlin to offer an education based on the British model, set in an international context.

Our Method of Teaching and Learning:
The principles that underpin Berlin British School's approach to teaching and learning are rooted in the best traditions of the British education system. They recognise that an individual's self-confidence and intellectual growth are developed by fostering a school climate of enquiry, curiosity and recognition of the value of knowledge for its own sake.

They emphasise individual needs and collective responsibilities. At BBS, we encourage our students to voice freely their own views, founded on well-informed knowledge, tolerance and understanding.

Parent Testimonial:

"We have four children at BBS, our youngest in Nursery, our 6 and 8 year olds old in Primary School and our eldest at Secondary School. We recommend anyone living in Berlin who wants their children to benefit from a British and International education in a German setting to consider sending their children to BBS. The school offers British academic classroom teaching from highly qualified, caring and motivated teachers in a fantastic setting with many outdoors facilities. The school encourages learning in a disciplined British manner, yet allows children to express themselves through much interaction, whether it be in class, sport, after school clubs, music, or the theatre - to name only a few of the opportunities available. Giving children the best start in life is what BBS is all about!"
