SAE Institute is located in Manhattan, New York CIty. It was established as The School of Audio Engineering (SAE) in 1976 by engineer / producer Tom Misner, who in doing so developed the world's first combined practical and theoretical curriculum in audio engineering. Over the past three decades, SAE has developed into a world-wide network of campuses, boasting some of the most advanced equipment and facilities available to students studying in the creative media industries. We offer a certificate program in Electronic Music Production and a diploma program in Audio Technology. SAE Institute arrived in the United States in 1999, its first campus in mid-town New York City. SAE quickly added campuses in Nashville and Miami, followed by Los Angeles, Atlanta, and the most recent location in San Francisco.

Audio Technology Program (ATP) - Diploma
This intensive program is the foundation of every SAE qualification and offer high-level, hands-on practical training in combination with advanced theoretical study. Theory lectures delivered by experienced sound engineers and music industry professionals provide the basis for preparing students for work in recording studios, at live sPhoto of Audio Technology & Music Production School in New Yorkound venues, in post-production studios and broadcast facilities. The program is specifically designed to train students for entry level positions in the audio industry, such as commercial recording and post-production studios, as well as live sound events. Students will have the necessary management skills for entry-level management positions in the entertainment business. Potential jobs include: recording engineer, post production engineer, live sound engineer, studio manager, music business manager, audio film editor, or record company professional.

Electronic Music Production (EMP)
The EMP courses offered at SAE New York are an ideal way for anyone to learn the techniques and equipment needed to create electronic music. We currently offer 2 different Electronic Music Producer courses. Students are encouraged to take both, but may register for them individually if desired.

Length per course: 36 clock hours, only offered Part Time

6 Weeks - 1 Course (36 clock hours total)
12 Weeks - 2 Courses (72 clock hours total)

Who should take this course?
The EMP program is intended for musicians and DJs who enjoy experimenting with technology as well as electronic music and audio hobbyists. The program is open to anyone 16 years of age and above with no prior experience or personal equipment required. (A laptop capable of running current music software is suggested for students attending this course.) The Electronic Music Production course is an innovative combination of lecture-based training and practical, hands-on learning
