International Students:
International students may begin their study at Ross School as early as eighth grade. Students follow their grade level course of study, framed by specific time periods, that incorporates knowledge and understanding from the domains of Cultural History, Mathematics, Science, Language Arts, Performing Arts, Physical Education/Well-Being, and Media/Technology.

Students who are learning English as their second language are integrated into the School’s unique Spiral Curriculum while improving their English proficiency through placement in skills-appropriate ESL classes.

The three levels in the ESL program—Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced—are designed to meet the needs of a variety of students and allow greater flexibility in the program.

Boarding:
Learning to live away from home and to be independent is a major milestone for any teenager. The boarding houses are designed to give students a home-like feeling, complete with spacious bedrooms, private bathrooms, a living room, kitchen and study rooms. Ross faculty house parents reside in the boarding houses to create a safe, welcoming living environment.

Weekends are chock full of activities both on and off campus. Students follow the same daily program of study as day students. The boarding experience adds a new dimension of interaction, dialogue, cultural exchange and learning for any student.

Location:
Ross School enjoys an ideal setting in East Hampton (upper school) and Bridgehampton (lower school), on the the East End of Long Island, New York, approximately 90 miles east of New York City. It is the only private K-12 school located in the Hamptons, a place where magnificent beaches and breathtaking natural beauty are the norm.

The East End of Long Island offers a relaxed pace, clean air, friendly community and many country pleasures. It also happens to be within 2 hours of three major international airports; John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK, "Kennedy"); Fiorello La Guardia Airport (LGA, "La Guardia"); and Newark International Airport (EWR, "Newark"). Boarders from the New York City area are able to commute home on the weekends by train or bus.

North Country School

Located in Lake Placid, Essex County, New York, North Country School is a junior co-educational boarding and day school offering a traditional curriculum for children in grades 4-9.

Our students come from diverse backgrounds and cultures, and they are instructed by dedicated, multi-talented adults who teach, live with, and care for them. North Country is primarily boarding, but does enroll day students and five-day boarders.

Houghton Academy

Situated in Houghton, Allegany County in western NY state, Houghton Academy is a Christian boarding and day school enrolling students in Grades 6-12.

Most boarding students at Houghton Academy live in one of the two residence halls. Both dorms offer a secure, traditional residential setting. Two students most often share a room, there are shared common areas for relaxation and recreation, and the buildings are staffed by full-time employees.

An alternative to or traditional dorms is found in three Staff Houses we own close to school. These homes serve as the full-time, traditional residences of our employees families, but each house has been configured to accommodate students.
