College Counseling:

Photo of Co-Ed Boarding School in Philadelphia PA areaPerkiomen students go on to achieve success at a range of excellent college and universities in the United States and many other countries. Each year, students submit applications to a wide variety of schools and programs and enroll in the institutions that best fit their academic needs and goals.

Perkiomen offers its student the support of a dedicated college counseling program. The hallmark of this program is the truly exceptional degree of personal attention the college counselors are able to provide each student.

Our college process begins with the virtue of our school’s motto: Solvitur Vivendo, which means “it is solved by living.” We believe that experience is the best teacher, and that the best preparation for success in college is to enable our students to grow and explore their talents and passions academically and extracurricularly. Being involved and purposeful in their approach to their high school career will stand out to the many colleges and universities that come to Perkiomen to recruit our talented students.

Our philosophy extends to helping students find the “right fit” in terms of achieving their post-secondary goals. We offer personal, comprehensive counseling as our students navigate the ever-changing landscape of college admissions. However, we firmly believe that it is the student who must drive this process; which includes self-reflection, goal-setting, and time management. The culmination of this maturation process comes when the student decides what path they will follow after graduation.

Campus / Residential Life:

Boarding at Perkiomen prepares students for life. It’s a 360 degree experience in a world-class learning environment which extends beyond the desk, beyond the bell, and beyond the expected. It attracts special students, from 22 countries and nine states, who desire to be the best version of themselves, who embrace academic challenges, exceptional opportunities and adventure, while thriving in a diverse, supportive community.

Co-educational Boarding & Day School Program (Grades 6-12):

While the literal translation of the Perkiomen School motto is "it is solved by living," the interpretation of the Latin is closer to "experience is the best teacher" or "we learn through experience." Colloquial usage might even allow for "the learning is in the doing." However one interprets our motto, the Perkiomen mission and philosophy embrace hard working, inquisitive, ethical, and independent learners.

Institutes:

Experience is the best teacher. At Perkiomen our Institutes guide students to interact with and apply the knowledge and skills they learn. Not only do students acquire a deep understanding of the topics they explore, but they also demonstrate heightened engagement resulting from choice and agency in the topics and methods of education. Preparing students today to thrive in the context of the future requires a bold and forward-facing approach to learning. We are sculpting an innovative model based on sound best practices. Come learn more and be a part of the conversation.
