High School Program for Grades 9-12:
Curriculum:
We believe education is a process, not a product. School is not preparation for life; school is life being lived. Fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (the only recognized accrediting body for secondary schools in California) and the California Association of Independent Schools, Mid-Peninsula's curricula meets standards of admission for both the University of California and the California State institutions as well as private institutions of higher learning.
The curriculum at Mid-Peninsula High School is designed to fulfill the educational requirements of our diverse population. We offer both college-preparatory classes and general secondary education classes. With an emphasis on individual development, our balanced curriculum grants each student access to the fundamentals of all academic disciplines, specialized areas of interest, coping, critical thinking skills and constructive ways to express self.
To meet the needs of all students at Mid-Peninsula, we must maintain a creative and responsive approach to academic programming. Even though our current offerings are already strong and broad, particularly for a school of this size, we are always seeking new ways to help our students succeed, whether in Core classes, electives, sports or enrichment opportunities.
Subjects offered include: Maths, Science, English, Foreign Language, Social Sciences plus Electives (Art, Sign Language, Teamwork).
Athletics:
At Mid-Peninsula, we view interscholastic athletics as an integral part of a liberal arts education and boast a competitive, well-rounded sports program for boys and girls. Mid-Peninsula has won two championships in boys' soccer, baseball and basketball. Our boys' basketball program has become one of the best in our league.
Although our girls' program has yet to win a championship, the volleyball, basketball and softball teams have improved dramatically. Girls' sports are definitely on the upswing at Mid-Peninsula.
