Co-educational Programs from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th Grade:
When Augustine Christian Academy was organized, it was deliberately and completely designed to be a classical school in its philosophy and methodology. While Catholic schools have long offered a classical model of education to its parishioners and a limited non-Catholic clientele, ACA was founded as a nondenominational school offering this model to a wider range of students.

It recognizes three stages in a young person’s development and assigns an educational emphasis which capitalizes on these stages, creating a natural progression through a School of Grammar, Photo of Private K-12 School in Tulsa, OKa School of Dialectic, and a School of Rhetoric.

School of Grammar / Lower School:

The School of Grammar (Kindergarten-Grade 5) uses the sponge-like quality of children’s minds and their natural ease of memorization to equip them with sets of rules and facts, which serve as the foundation for more complex study.

Augustine Christian Academy uses a wide variety of curricula, chosen for their adaptability in the classical model. Because the foundation of any successful study is the ability to read, ACA uses the ABeka curriculum in the primary grades, supplementing with hands-on materials where appropriate.

School of Dialectic / Middle School:
The School of Dialectic (Grades 6-8) acknowleges the questioning nature of a young person’s mind and teaches students to use logical methods as they grapple with truth. At this stage, students are encouraged to examine relationship between different areas of study and to apply rules of logic in each area.

In the older grades, the curricula includes selections from Bob Jones University Press, Saxon Math, Shurley Grammar, and a wide range of books for reading, composition, and poetry memorization. Latin instruction begins in kindergarden, and continues into Latina Christiana followed by Latin for Americans.

School of Rhetoric / Upper School:
The School of Rhetoric (Grades 9-12) teaches students who have learned to draw logical and well-informed conclusions to engage in the Image of Private K-12 School in Tulsa, OK“Great Conversation.” As suggested by the name, this stage emphasizes communicational skill as foundational. Students study great literature and original sources and respond in discussion, presentation, and written assignments.

Students from Augustine Christian’s School of Rhetoric complete all of the Oklahoma State requirements for graduation and much more. The average graduate will complete 28 units of credit in a challenging college-preparatory program. Courses include four years each of math, science, English, history, and literature. Courses in rhetoric, economics, Greek, and Hebrew are also offered.
