Spinnaker College is located near the University in the centre of Portsmouth, a city on the south coast of England in Hampshire linked by ferry to France and Spain, and by train to London (66 miles). Spinnaker College provides a variety of professional, high quality and affordable English language courses for adult international students and young learners throughout the year. The college is accredited by the British Council. We adapt our courses according to our students’ needs, and these vary according to the composition of the class. Your grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation should improve together with the four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing, all in a setting that will broaden your knowledge of British culture.Spinnaker College is a centre for learning a new language, making new friends, and experiencing a new culture. We are happy to arrange accommodation for you according to your requirements. We strongly recommend students stay in an English home as this gives them a great opportunity to practise speaking English out of the classroom and to experience the British way of life in a homely environment. All our hosts are carefully selected and monitored to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible.

In home-stay accommodation, clean bed-linen and towels are provided by the host on a weekly basis.

Private Accommodation:
If students prefer to have a more independent lifestyle, we can also arrange for them to stay in privately rented accommodation with other students. This gives them a great opportunity to make friends with students from other countries. This is on a self-catering basis and there is a choice of single or shared rooms.

There are trips to places of interest outside Portsmouth (London, Cambridge, Bath, Stonehenge, Brighton, Warwick etc. We also offer Sports e.g. football, bowling and golf as well as evening parties, pub evenings, games evenings, film evenings.
