Acadia Center for English Immersion:
Acadia Center for English Immersion is an English language centre based in Camden in Knox County on the beautiful coast of Maine (a state in the New England Region) in the northeast corner of the USA, a few hours by car from Boston and from Québec. Acadia Center for English Immersion is dedicated to providing the highest quality intensive English language courses and online English lessons to professionals, executives, and adult students from many different countries featuring everything you need to improve your English quickly and enjoy a memorable learning vacation. At Acadia Center, you will gain new self-confidence in speaking, writing, and understanding English, while enjoying the beauty, serenity, and generous hospitality of a small Maine town. All day and every day students are constantly practicing their English, both in class and out of class, at meals and on excursions.

Acadia Center for English Immersion was established in 1999 by Brian Boyd and Kathreen (Kit) Harrison. Our experienced teachers make sure that you learn the English skills most essential to you, whether you need English for your job or travel or both. As a result of the small size and friendliness of our program at Acadia Center for English Immersion, you will have the chance to meet many people in our community who are eager to get to know you and help you with your English. New immersion courses begin every week and you can join us at a time that works best for you. 

Our business and NGO clients recognize the importance of high-quality English language training based on total English immersion, a personalized learning program, and constant attention to the individual needs of our students.

Our intensive English language courses are offered year-round for adults of all levels from beginner to advanced. On the first day of your course, in consultation with the program director, a detailed plan is made outlining your learning goals and the best way to achieve them.

- Combination English language courses:  Our combination intensive courses feature one-to-one and mini-group lessons.
- Private English language courses:  Our private intensive courses offer fully customized, private instruction.
- Online English language lessons (via the internet):  English lessons in conversation and / or writing.
- New intensive courses begin every week.

The standard accommodation plan (included in the course fee) is a comfortable private room at Acadia Center, which is located in a traditional New-England-style wooden home. If the rooms at Acadia Center are full, you will stay in a private room in a nearby village home. Each room has a comfortable bed, a desk, chair, and lamp, a dresser and a closet and is similar to the rooms in a bed-and-breakfast. Students staying at Acadia Center share a bathroom with no more than two other students.

Most students prefer the convenience and value of the standard accommodation plan. However, if you prefer to stay in a hotel, there are many nice hotels and bed-and-breakfasts in Camden within easy walking distance of Acadia Center.

Camden, Maine, is a small town in the northeast corner of the USA nestled between mountains and ocean. Forest trails and waterfront cafés, quiet coves and islands, lobster fishing boats and historic sailing vessels, classic New England wooden houses and a friendly, safe, and inviting atmosphere make our community the perfect place to study and relax. We are a few hours by car from Boston and from Québec.
