StudyCELTA offers Cambridge University ESOL teacher training courses including the CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) courses in Melbourne, Australia. Our CELTA courses in Melbourne are available all year round and and can be taken full-time (4 weeks / 120 hours), part-time (13 or 14 weeks) or online-blended. The teacher training centre in Melbourne is a recently established centre providing quality courses run by very experienced tutors.
The Cambridge CELTA Certificate is the most widely recognised pre-service ELT (English Language Teaching) qualification throughout the world. The CELTA provides training to people with little or no previous experience in teaching English to adults and is therefore very practical in content.
The course aims to increase candidates’ language awareness and develop competence in communicative language teaching as well as an understanding of current teaching methodologies.
- Full-time CELTA course:
This course is 4 weeks long and consists of approximately 120 hours. Courses run Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5.30pm, plus homework and assignments that you will have to work on after class and over the weekends.
- Part time CELTA course:
This is a 13 / 14 week course with classes being held on Tuesdays and Thursdays every week from 5.30pm to 8.30pm. In addition, you will also be required to attend classes on some Saturdays from 10am to 2pm. The part time course includes an online component that you will be able to complete from home.
- Online blended CELTA course:
This course is mostly conducted online. You will be required to go to the training centre for two weeks to do teaching practice.
