CELTA Courses in Melbourne:
The CELTA course is designed for people with little or no previous experience in teaching English to adults and is therefore very practical in content. The course aims to increase candidates’ language awareness and develop competence in communicative language teaching as well as an understanding of current teaching methodologies.
- Full-time CELTA course: This course is 4 weeks long and consists of approximately 120 hours. Courses run Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5.30pm, plus homework and assignments that you will have to work on after class and over the weekends.
- Part time CELTA course: This is a 13 / 14 week course with classes being held on Tuesdays and Thursdays every week from 5.30pm to 8.30pm. In addition, you will also be required to attend classes on some Saturdays from 10am to 2pm. The part time course includes an online component that you will be able to complete from home.
- Online blended CELTA course: This course is completed mostly online. You will be required to go to the training centre for two weeks to complete teaching practice.

RMIT English Worldwide (REW) in Melbourne, Victoria in south-east Australia offers the Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA). The CELTA is widely-recognised as a pre-service qualification for teachers of English in Australia and overseas. It is administered by the University of Cambridge and delivered world-wide. The course is run full-time and part-time, however, the full-time course is very intensive and students should carefully consider their availability prior to enrolling. We also provide refresher TEFL courses and English grammar courses for teachers.The primary aim of the course is to develop communicative teaching and classroom management skills for people with little or no previous experience of English language teaching. The course also aims to develop candidates' language awareness and to familiarise them with approaches and materials for developing proficiency in adult learners of English.
