We are a specialized TESL Training Centre recognized by TESL Canada. VIA Training Centre offers the most modern TESL programs in Victoria. Courses:

The VIA TESL Programs are recognized by TESL Canada and emphasize Communicative Language Teaching (CLT.) All successful applicants are eligible for the VIA TESL Diploma.The 120 program is based on the standard 120 hours: 100 classroom, and 20 hours of practicum. Theory taught in the classroom is combined with activities, allowing our graduates to become confident, skilled teachers. 

The 270 program is based on the standard 270 hours: 250 classroom, and 20 hours of practicum. This course covers everything in the 120 course and then goes into a lot more detail with a focus on linguistics, teaching grammar and pronunciation, and learning new games and activities to use in the class.

Graduates of the VIA TESL Diploma Program will be able to apply Communicative Language Teaching, learned principles, theories, strategies, and practical classroom techniques and implement them successfully in effective ESL lessons.

The Online TESL Diploma Program is designed for busy people who can not study during regular day-time hours. Students can work through the modules at their own pace and take their time with assignments.

Victoria International Academy (VIA) Training Centre is in a bright heritage building in the heart of downtown. The centre has a computer lab, student lounge, and TESL library. CERTESL us a 250-hour, 18 credit, 6 course program recognized for accreditation by TESL Canada, SCENES and TESL Ontario (note that TESL Ontario accreditation requires a total of 300 hours which may be completed via one additional CERTESL course and supplemental practicum hours).
