The city
Delft is a safe, attractive, and historic town with a vibrant student life: outdoor cafes and restaurants that match the student’s budget, fine cinemas. All easy to find and in walking distance. No other student city has so many active student, sport and cultural associations. As Delft is based in the urban west of the Netherlands (Randstad), cities like Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague are all within easy reach. Just take one of the many trains, anytime, as they also run at night.
The country
The Netherlands (or Holland) is a relatively small country, neighbouring Germany, Belgium and across the North Sea the United Kingdom. With a population of over 16 million, it is one of the most densely populated countries in the world. Though the national language is Dutch, most adults speak good English and understand German and some French.

University College Utrecht (UCU) is the international honors college of Utrecht University (Shanghai ranking: best Dutch university) in the Netherlands. UCU specializes in liberal arts and sciences undergraduate education, and students choose from 200 different courses in humanities, science and social sciences leading to a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science honors degree. The UCU approach is personal: classes never exceed 25 students, and class participation is actively encouraged.
