It is a city of cultural diversity with a large Polynesian, Maori and Asian, as well as European, population. AUT has two campuses here, its City Campus located on Wellesley Street and the Akoranga Campus situated on the North Shore.

AUT's City Campus is conveniently located right in the heart of Auckland. Queen Street, the main street of Auckland, is a bustling area one minute's walk away making shopping or people-watching between lectures a distinct possibility! As well as shopping there are various restaurants and cafés to enjoy.

If you want to walk a little further the Auckland Viaduct is a beautiful spot to enjoy high quality restaurants and soak up the sun whilst taking in the view of Auckland harbour. Other attractions within walking distance include the Auckland Domain, an ideal place to picnic or study in the sun. The Auckland Museum is also located here and houses one of the world's finest Maori and Polynesian collections, as well as offering a great view over the city.

AUT's North Shore campus is located on Auckland's North Shore, just across the Auckland Harbour Bridge. The North Shore campus has a relaxed atmosphere and is situated close to some fabulous beaches and parks. Takapuna is 10 minutes drive away from the campus and has a popular beach, with fantastic views of the volcanic island of Rangitoto. Takapuna is also the ideal place to soak up the café culture, take in a movie or go shopping. Glenfield, about 5 minutes drive away, is also a good place to go shopping.

Accommodation:

Photos of Auckland University Of TechnologyAUT runs two residential complexes offering accommodation to over 700 students. For those of you new to Auckland, these are an excellent living option, as they provide accommodation in close proximity to both campuses at affordable rates.

Wellesley Student Apartments (WSA) is situated only 3 minutes walk from Campus, and is close to Queen Street, entertainment & shopping. Wellesley Student Apartments provide group flatting style accommodation in a safe, supportive and modern environment. The accommodation is shared, fully furnished apartments and self-catered with each containing either 4 or 5 bedrooms, two bathrooms and a well-equipped kitchen for self catering. The entrance lobby with reception desk to service tenants and visitors is located on the ground floor, as are shops and cafés situated onsite in the outdoor courtyard setting.

Akoranga Student Village is situated on the North Shore and directly across the road from the North Shore Campus. It is ideally suited for students studying at the North Shore campus. Accommodation is provided in 5 and 6 bedroom apartments in a safe, modern environment with attractive landscaping. Sports fields and gymnasium are nearby.

Homestay:
Homestays are where you stay with a host family and usually arranged for you by AUT. The host family will provide a separate fully furnished room with breakfast and dinner each weekday, and three meals on the weekends. Fresh linen is also provided and your laundry is done for you. Host families come from a variety of different cultural backgrounds and language groups and are all different. A homestay gives you the opportunity of experiencing life in a good NZ family home.

Students may also choose to live in private rented accommodation or in hostels.

The International Travel College
Courses / Programs
The International Travel College has an outstanding reputation as the premium supplier of training courses for the airline, travel and tourism industries. The College is registered and accredited with the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA), the International Air Transport Association (IATA/UFTAA), the University of Cambridge (UK) and Microsoft. Courses are approved for student loans and allowances with the Ministry of Education and recognised and approved for student visas with the New Zealand Immigration Service. All ITC courses provide training in the technical skills required in the airline, travel and tourism industries. Whitireia is a government owned tertiary institution with a history of graduating work ready New Zealand and overseas students. Whitireia is a well-established community polytechnic, originally based at Porirua, and now with campuses at Porirua, Kapiti, Wellington Central, and Auckland Central.

Taylors College, Auckland
Courses / Programs
Taylors College Auckland provides specialised university preparation programs in partnership with leading universities in New Zealand. With successful completion of the Taylors Auckland Foundation Year (TAFY), you will be guaranteed entry into the University of Auckland, AUT University and Massey University. In 2011, 94% of TAFY students were offered a tertiary place. Our university preparation courses are open to international students and also New Zealand students who don't meet the direct entry requirements for undergraduate degree programs.

There are three study options available for Taylors Auckland Foundation Year. If you have superior grades in English and relevant subjects and want to fast track your pathway to University, you can take the Intensive (Accelerated) Program. Intake is in April only and the course is 30 weeks.

If you have achieved at least average grades in English and relevant subjects, the Standard Program will be suitable for you. You can start your study in January (40 weeks), July (38 weeks) or August (35 weeks). Our Certificate in Pre-Foundation Studies has been designed to prepare you for academic study at foundation level.
University Preparation & English Language Courses:

*Intensive (Accelerated) Program: This 30-week program is ideal if you have superior grades in English & relevant subjects and want to fasttrack your pathway to University.

Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) is a leading university specialising in arts, performance, design, and media education. Easily accessible less than 2 hours south of London by train, AUB provides study abroad BA (Hons) courses for international students and professionals who wish to spend time abroad in pursuit of careers in creative arts, graphic design, interior design, textiles, fashion, makeup, visual communication, architecture, acting, film production, photography, dance, and more.

Our short study abroad courses are designed for students who want to spend time in university or college in the UK, developing their creative skills and perhaps gaining credits towards their university degree, but do not necessarily want to spend as much as 2-3 years studying in the UK.

Students are fully integrated with our full-time BA (Hons) degree students, and these courses can be taken for 1 term, 2 terms, or 3 terms.

If you can't find the exact course you want, we can design a course tailored to your individual needs. You can join several groups of students on a range of different courses and also receive one-to-one tuition.
