All Saints Catholic School, Dallas:
Located near Cowley, just north of Dallas in Dallas County, Texas, All Saints Catholic School is a co-educational private school for children from kindergarten through eight grade and follows the Diocese of Dallas Curriculum Guide. Everything we do as a school community has at its center our love for children and their development. From that starting point on day one, at our school, everything else grows; a desire to give our students a foundation for their life; rigorous academics; athletics to build character and strength of body; and an environment in which each child is encouraged to develop their abilities.
Education Programs:
Our average class size is 18-20 in the primary grades and 22 in the intermediate and middle school grades. In addition to our academic program, we offer a variety of enrichment activities including orchestra, band, foreign languages and art to name a few.
Curriculum:
All Saints Catholic School follows the Diocese of Dallas Curriculum Guide. This guide aligns the Diocesan objectives with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills Elements, TCCED and provides a common base for curriculum formation.
The curriculum includes religion, reading, English (including spelling, vocabulary, writing, and handwriting), mathematics, social studies, science, Spanish, art, music, physical education, and technology.
Kindergarten Program:
Our full day kindergarten program provides a systematic approach to teaching the core curriculum and skills at appropriate levels. A special emphasis of each year is on your child’s spiritual, social, emotional, intellectual and physical development.
Primary Program (Grades K through to 2):
These grades involve self-contained classroom teaching. Specialized teachers instruct music, physical education, art and Spanish
classes.
Intermediate Program (Grades 3 through to 5):
These grades involve self-contained classroom teaching. Specialized teachers instruct music, physical education, art and Spanish classes.
Middle School Program (Grades 6 through to 8):
Our departmental system enables the students to receive quality instruction in all basic areas. While a child is assigned to a specific homeroom, several teachers will teach him/her during the day.
Music:
A specialized music teacher conducts weekly music classes for grades K – 4. All students are required to participate in two music concerts during the year as part of
their performance grade.
Art:
Instruction in visual arts is provided by a specialized teacher to grades K - 4. Our visual arts curriculum focuses on creative exploration/expression using various art
elements and mediums. The art program also fosters an appreciation of both Master artists and peer student art work. Students in grade 5 may choose to enroll in Art if they are not enrolled in Band or Orchestra. For students in grades 6-8 art is offered as a 12 week fine arts class for students who are not enrolled in band or orchestra.
Physical Education and Health:
The PE program includes general fitness instruction from a specialized teacher, the Presidential Physical Fitness program, sports with skill development, lead-up games and rules, strategies and good sportsmanship.
Spanish:
Grades K-5 receives formal Spanish instruction from a specialized teacher. Spanish is offered as a fine arts credit for students in grades 6 – 8 who do not select
band or orchestra.
Electives:
Students in grade 5 have the opportunity to enroll for a full year in Band, Orchestra, or Art.
Learning Adventures Enrichment Program:
This enrichment program for grades 1-5 is designed to challenge and extend learning for students through the building of critical thinking skills.
After School Care Program:
The Eagles After School program is for students grades K- 8. The program is structured by grade levels. The program includes homework and study time, snack, and activities. Extra curricular activities are offered to ASCS students. The activities include: Martial arts, cooking, science fun, soccer, hip hop dance, and art. If a family needs care until a child's activity, the after school care program can help get their child to the activity.
