Spanish Language Programs For Kids in San Mateo CA
Universe of Colors, San Francisco Bay Area:
Universe of Colors provides foreign language immersion programs in Spanish for Preschool, Kindergarten, and Elementary school children. We are located in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area in downtown San Mateo, and we offer you the world when it comes to teaching your child a foreign language. We also offer full immersion programs in French, Italian and Spanish. We would like to invite you to Universe of Colors, where your child will explore the world through fun and engaging activities, and also gain all the benefits of learning in a foreign language.
In-House Programs in San Mateo:
We offer Spanish Immersion classes with before and after care until 6pm.
Afternoon Classes for Kindergarten and Elementary:
Our after school enrichment classes are for Kindergarten and Elementary School children. In them, we will introduce your child to a new language with a fun after school program. Our classes provide extracurricular hands-on activities in small groups that foster participation. The curriculum is based on age-appropriate activities and materials that create an active, dynamic, and creative environment.
School Break Language Camp Programs:
In addition to our regular in-house programs, we offer Summer Camps from June through August. Each week features a special theme. You may sign up for all or just pick and choose the weeks you would like your child to attend. We offer full day and half-day programs, and before & after camp care. Space is limited during our summer camps so we recommend early sign up. Camps include:

Classes at Your Location:
We not only have classes at our San Mateo location, but we can also come to you. Our instructors can conduct classes after school hours at a location of your choice.
Classes at School:
We will gladly work with your PTA to arrange 45-minute to 1 hour foreign language immersion classes at your private or public school. We will introduce the new language in a fun and engaging program for kindergartners (5-6 years old) through 5th graders (11-12 years old).
The age-appropriate and interactive curriculum is filled with fun activities that develop gross motor and social skills. The small class size and focus on listening and speaking will give the child the confidence to start using the language in an easy and informal environment.
Home-schooling Groups:
For Preschool age children we provide the same curriculum as our in-house programs in 45 minutes to 1 hour long sessions. For Kindergartners and Elementary school students we provide 1 to 2 hour classes.
Classes at Community Centers:
Learning a second language has to be fun! In this immersion program children will enjoy and learn a second language through music, art, active play, dramatic play, puppets and more. Basic skills and concepts, actions and expressions, greetings, everyday active words and sentences, letters and numbers will be introduced. No prior language experience is needed.

Bay Language Academy, Alameda CA
Courses / Programs
Situated in Alameda CA, Bay Language Academy provides beginner to advanced level classes and after school programs to children and adults in a variety of languages. We currently offer Spanish, Mandarin, French, Japanese, Italian, Korean, English, German and Arabic. Focusing on the specific needs of students and their parents, the classes are offered once, twice or three times weekly after school in 75 to 150-minute sessions. Parents are informed after each class of what was covered and what is expected from the young students for the next session.
The overall method is based on a modular teaching with an approach based on task, where a balance between practice and theory is achieved. The aim is to develop effective communication skills through the elementary development of the four basic language known skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Our instructors are trilingual, share a passion for languages and provide instruction through an engaging set of media interactive games, songs, art projects, total physical response and classical games. Our team of educators are either linguists who hold Bachelor's degree with certifications, Master's degree, Ph. D degree or are credentialed teachers.
