La Petite Classe, Burgundy:
French homestay programs and cultural add-on classes in eastern France: Situated in Semur-en-Auxois in the heart of the picturesque rural region of Burgundy, and close to Dijon (just two hours from Lyon), La Petite Classe provides intensive and private French lessons at the home of an experienced tutor. We offer 1-3 week sessions year-round for beginner to advanced level students from anywhere in the world.

In a world where authenticity is vanishing quickly, Burgundy has managed to retain a strong identity and to preserve its cultural and historic heritage. Semur en Auxois, where the school is located in ancient covenant, is a small yet vibrant, beautiful French town where foreigners are welcome and appreciated by the locals.

Semur is about 9 centuries old, yet your cell phone signal will never disappear! Modernity meets ancient times. In such an environment, students are incentivized to make quick and good progress -- both in their language skills as well as in their understanding of the French culture.

The local delicacies, the monuments in the region and its proximity to Paris will make it a pleasant cultural and linguistic immersion.

La Petite Classe is a school which is tailor made for adults (students and professionals alike). I’ve been teaching French to foreigners from over the world for several decades, and opened my school here in Semur en Auxois a decade ago.

I am among the handful of « FLE » certified professors in France who offer complete immersion at the teacher's home but actually the only one in the country to take no more than 2 students per session, in order to offer high quality courses that meet their needs and satisfy their personal or professional objectives.

Furthermore, I am the only one who has accumulated significant experience abroad, teaching at renown institutions in Europe and Asia.

My classes are also unique in that I do integrate pronunciation modules. No other school in France or abroad does that. I host students from all over the world and of any age, with a strong proportion of them coming from the US, Northern Europe and Japan as well as emerging economies such as China and Brazil.
