ATTENTION all thrill-seeking fans of rollercoasters and high speed racing games – get ready for an awesome mash-up of both of these adrenaline-pumping activities! Coaster Racer is a fantastic, all-action, arcade racing game for daredevils of all ages where you get behind the wheel of a Go Kart-style Grand Prix racing car on a series of exhilarating rollercoasters that have been converted into race tracks! Some of these circuits are so high in the sky, you actually have to drive through the clouds! It’s a truly awesome racing experience!
This fast paced driving game requires slick cornering skills, quick reflexes and reactions, and a very cool head above all else. However, keeping level-headed is easier said than done when you are thousands of feet in the air and traveling at 100 miles per hour! Upgrade your vehicle as you progress, and unlock more difficult circuits as you climb your way to the top of the rankings. Happy racing!
How to Play: There are three difficulty levels to choose from: Easy, Medium, and Hard. Using your computer mouse or touchpad, Left Click on your desired difficulty level on the Main Menu Screen, then click ‘Start Race’ in the top right corner (This is a challenging game, and we recommend to begin on Easy). There are 8 rollercoaster tracks in total, and you have to unlock them all, one-by-one, by finishing in the ‘Qualifying Positions’ in each race. In level one, the Qualifying Position is 8th, in Level 2 its 6th, and so on. There are 16 other computer-controlled cars racing against you - and you start at the back of the grid in each 2-lap challenge.
Control your car using the Arrow Keys on your computer keyboard; Up Arrow = Accelerate; Down Arrow = Brake; Left & Right Arrows = Steer (alternatively, use the WASD keys). When the Nitro Button flashes green on your car’s dashboard, hit the N or X Key in order to activate your Nitrous Booster to gain a huge burst of speed. Hit the M or Z Keys to let go of the wheel and drive ‘Freestyle’ – which charges your Nitro Booster faster. But be careful, you cannot steer the car while driving Freestyle! If you drive off the sides of the circuit, it takes a few valuable seconds before your car re-spawns back on the track.
Keep an eye on your position in the top right corner of the game screen. There are green $ Power-ups dotted along each track that you can collect. Use the funds from these Power-ups to purchase Upgrades for your vehicle at the end of each race. The tracks increase in difficulty as you progress, so you need to improve your machine (and skills!) accordingly.
