Fun Code Breaking Game Under Pressure - Art Thief
How quickly can you enter numbers to break the code under intense pressure while playing the part of a cheeky rogue? Art Thief is an unusual yet fun code-breaking puzzle game (based on deductive reasoning) where you have to quickly and logically figure out the 3-digit code that instantaneously switches off an alarm system so that you can grab and run off with valuable loot (paintings from prestigious museums). In this suave virtual world, your character is a normal, corporate office worker by day, and the world’s most notorious art thief by night, attempting daring heists in some of the most renowned galleries! Known only as ‘The Specter’, you have scrupulously designed a state-of-the-art code breaking gadget that handily indicates whether your 3-digit guess is ‘higher’ or ‘lower’ than the real alarm code in that gallery. Through a series of logical guesses and quick reactions, you try to crack the alarm code to switch off the laser system, and steal the painting!
Yes, stealing is obviously wrong and totally unacceptable in real life, but the best police officers and detectives have to be able to re-trace the steps and actions of the cunning criminal in order to solve the crime, and restore some sense of justice. This stimulating brain exercise allows you to be the villain of the day in an intense environment, and requires deductive logic skills, a good memory, fast mouse-clicking reactions, an enthusiasm for number crunching and problem solving under pressure, a clear strategy, and patience! Each time you enter a 3-digit code, you only get a ‘higher’ or ‘lower’ clue as to the exact code combination, so you have to be clever in the subsequent numbers you enter. Guess what? The more valuable the painting – the less time you have to work on the code! So, have you got the skill and desire to break the code? Good luck – and just don’t trip that alarm!
How to Play: In each of the three increasingly difficult levels, your goal is to correctly enter the three-digit alarm code into your gadget. This disables the alarm system, and allows you to grab the paintings. There are three increasingly valuable paintings to steal from three different art galleries / museums. The higher the security level, the less time you have to figure out the code (Minimum Security = 90 seconds, Medium Security = 60 seconds, Maximum Security = 30 seconds).
Using your computer mouse or touchpad, Left Click on the ‘Start’ button in the bottom left corner of the game screen in order to begin the level. Enter a 3-digit guess by clicking on the number pad of your gadget on the left hand side of the game zone, and then click the ‘Enter’ button. The green screen on your gadget tells you whether your guess was ‘TOO HIGH’, or ‘TOO LOW’. Keep adjusting your guesses according to the message from your gadget. Once you enter the correct code, you progress to the next level. If you fail to guess the code before the clock runs out, you fail the level. Can you think of a good strategy for eliminating approximately 50% of the numbers each time?
