Hard Platform Game Online - One Step Back
Here's a real puzzler for those who love difficult brain teasers and skill-based platform games! To advance in One Step Back, you must escape your own past! This truly is a head-scratching, mind-boggling, time-traveling puzzle game where you have to guide a small, acrobatic stickman character to an exit door without running into regenerated, previous versions (like clones) of himself! Following a theme of ‘moving on from the past’, and ‘not dwelling on previous actions’, the aim of the game is to completely avoid the numerous ‘mimic’ characters that replicate your stickman’s every move. Every few seconds, ghost versions of your character enter the game screen, and you must dodge these "shadows" at all cost. The advantage you have is that you are totally in control of the lead character's movements, so with good memory skills and high speed reactions, you should be able to predict the actions of the regenerated follow-up guys.
This unusual, cool and highly innovative problem solving challenge requires sharp analytical thinking skills, fast reactions, good memory, and serious determination and stamina. You need to be able to quickly change direction using savvy keyboard tapping talent. Ensure not to let the tricky time-traveling adventure melt your mind – and remember that it’s always better to take two steps forward than one step back in this case! Good luck against your own past!
How to Play: In each increasingly challenging level, you must get your blue stickman character to the Exit Door (usually at the opposite end of the game screen). There are two catches – 1: The Exit Door is initially locked, and won't open until you have moved a certain distance through the level (once the Exit Door turns bright blue, then you can progress through it to the next level). 2: Replica / mimic / ghost versions of your original character appear intermittently from the Entry point. If your initial blue character comes into contact with any of these ‘past’ versions, you fail the level.
Use the Arrow Keys (or WASD) on your computer keyboard to control your character (He moves normally like a platform character). The tricky part is a ‘wall jump’ move where can you leap from one wall to the next using a smooth Left & Right Arrow Key action. Keep a close eye on the white arrow markers that emit from the ‘ghost’ characters as these arrows indicate the direction in which the duplicates are moving. Tip: If you get to the last level and complete it, be prepared to re-trace your steps in a cool twist!
