Jacobs University Bremen:
Jacobs University Bremen is a private, independent university in Germany. Opened in 2001, Jacobs University awards bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in the natural sciences, engineering, and the humanities and social sciences. Admission to Jacobs University Bremen is highly selective and the language of instruction is English. Scholarships are available to students of any nationality. More than 1500 students from 120 countries are pursuing their studies at the university’s 34-hectare tree-lined campus in northern Bremen. There are more than 100 world-class faculty members, visiting professors, and lecturers who are currently involved in transdisciplinary teaching and research at Jacobs University Bremen.

Our Mission:

Jacobs University Bremen is a highly selective, private institution for the advancement of education and research. Its academic programs and cultural environment prepare graduates for international leadership and global citizenship. Multinational students, faculty and researchers of distinction, with educational partners around the world, collaborate in learning, creating and disseminating information and new knowledge.

Our unique transdisciplinary approach to learning and research is guided by five distinct principles:

Undergraduate & Graduate Degree Programs:

Our study and research programs follow the Anglo-American model. We offer undergraduate study programs for the bachelor’s degree and graduate programs to prepare students for either a master’s degree or a PhD. There is also a Foundation Year offered, which helps high school graduates preparing for their studies. Our Bachelor study programs have been accredited since June 2004. Teaching is based on research. The faculty involve students in research at the earliest possible opportunity. 

Undergraduate Studies:
The Bachelor of Science and the Bachelor of Arts Degrees prepare students for immediate employment upon graduation. They also qualify students to continue their studies in master’s or doctoral programs. To achieve the goal of transdisciplinarity, students must participate in special courses in which two professors, one from each school, treat a topic using cross-disciplinary team teaching. Additionally, students must supplement their major studies with courses from the other school.

Graduate Programs:

International Programs and Cooperation:
International cooperation is an important part of Jacobs University international academic profile. Jacobs University students are encouraged to acquire international experience through visiting and exchange programs. Being an attractive partner, Jacobs University welcomes and hosts visiting and exchange students every year.

University College Freiburg

One of the oldest and most renowned higher education institutions in Germany, the University of Freiburg provides a four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS). This is the university's first interdisciplinary, English-taught undergraduate program and the first of its kind in Germany. We welcome students from Germany and international students from around the world.

Reaching across academic fields, the LAS Bachelor's Degree is complementary to the University’s existing disciplinary Bachelor programs. It is hosted by the University College Freiburg (UCF) and started in October 2012 with a pioneer group of 78 students.

Center for Cultural Diplomacy Studies, Berlin
Courses / Programs
The Center for Cultural Diplomacy Studies (part of the ICD Academy for Cultural Diplomacy) is the world’s leading center for the study of cultural diplomacy. CCDS offers internationally recognized cultural diplomacy education in cooperation with partner European universities in Germany, as well as online cultural diplomacy programs and intensive, week-long seminars. Programs include Masters, MBA and Doctorate Degree programs in  International Relations, International Economics, Business and the Global Economy.

The educational programs of the Center for Cultural Diplomacy Studies (CCDS) allow participants to research and experience cultural diplomacy in theory and in practice at the local, state and international levels. The CCDS benefits from the participation and support of leading political figures from around the world who participate in the Center’s activities throughout the year.

Alice Salomon Hochschule University of Applied Sciences Berlin

Founded in 1899 by Alice Salomon, a strong advocate for women's rights and social justice, the Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences in Berlin is now Germany's oldest and largest training institution of higher education in social work.

The Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences is proud to offer its Master of Arts in Intercultural Conflict Management (MA-ICM). The M.A. programme is a response to the challenges of conflict, cultural diversity, forced and voluntary migration, violations of human rights and human exploitation. This international programme is taught in English and is designed to bring students together from a variety of backgrounds and cultures to facilitate cross-cultural learning experiences.

The MA degree program is a full-time program and takes three semesters to complete. Students are encouraged to reside in Berlin at least until the end of the attendance period during the 2nd semester. Students will also have an e-learning period where modules are taught over the internet using appropriate technologies in education delivery.
