Zinzendorfschulen - Private boarding school in south-west Germany:
The Zinzendorf schools in Königsfeld are among the largest state-recognized private schools with boarding school facilities in Germany. Christian values and cosmopolitanism have shaped the model of the school in Protestant sponsorship for more than 200 years. Our boarding houses in Königsfeld in the Black Forest region (in the state of Baden-Württemberg in south-west Germany, close to Freiburg, France and Switzerland) is open to students of all denominations and nationalities, and provide around 70 boys and girls in grades 5 to 13 with a “temporary second home”.

Pathways leading to the general higher education entrance qualification (‘Abitur’)
- Gymnasium specialising in social and health sciences (with psychology and education as the specialist option) or
- Gymnasium specialising in business and economics (with business as the specialist option). 

Gymnasium is the most advanced of the 3 types of German secondary schools, and strongly emphasizes academic learning. This type of academically-oriented secondary school is comparable with college prep schools in the United States, and with the British grammar school system.

Image of Gymnasium High School in GermanyAt the Zinzendorf Schools, we offer a variety of educational pathways leading to the general higher education entrance qualification (‘Abitur’), which entitles you to study any subject at all colleges/universities: 

• Gymnasium offering general education; grades 8/9 with language, science or arts optionsl
• Gymnasium specialising in business and economics
• Gymnasium specialising in social and health sciences – social affairs option
• Realschule (secondary school)
• Two year Berufsfachschule (technical vocational school) for home economics and nutrition/business and economics
• Berufskolleg (vocational college) for social education
• Fachschule (training/specialised school) for social education / social care

You can choose between the Gymnasium offering general education, the Gymnasium specialising in social and health sciences (with psychology and education as the specialist option) or the Gymnasium specialising in business and economics (with business as the specialist option).

In order to attend the Gymnasium specialising in social and health sciences or the Gymnasium specialising in business and economics, you must have successfully passed class 9 at a German Gymnasium lasting for eight years (G8) or class 10 at a German Gymnasium lasting for nine years (G9).

If you want to do your school leaving certificate with us, we normally require you to have at least level B2 in German and English. We must have a relevant certificate from you proving your German language skills.

German language courses
Proficiency in German is the basis for your success in school and your life here in Germany. Our specialist teachers of German as a foreign language will not only help you to improve your language skills, they will also support you with German as a school subject, e.g. with required reading or in preparing for class tests.

Sports
Sport is an important part of boarding house life. Weekly options such as football, basketball, table tennis, darts and mountain biking are supplemented by regular swimming pool trips, badminton and skate boarding. In addition, the Zinzendorf Schools’ sports hall is available daily outside of lesson times. The winter months are dedicated to winter sports on the House’s own ice rink and in nearby ski areas.

Go for Golf
Boarding school with golf school: Improve your handicap and your academic achievements with our additional sporting offer. Our boarding school is within walking distance of the 18-hole course of the golf club Königsfeld and we work closely together with the renowned HuKi golf school.

The HuKi golf school offers two different modules to give beginners the joy of golf and to optimally promote and train performance golfers. The 18-hole course of the golf club Königsfeld is one of the most beautiful in southern Germany. It is also the official training location in the Olympic base in Stuttgart. Beginners as well as performance-oriented golfers find ideal conditions for us to successfully combine school and golf.

We have various choirs, a symphony orchestra, a brass band, a jazz band and various theatre, literature and art clubs.

Many types of musical instrument can also be learned in Königsfeld.

Be Active: We offer a wide range of sports including football, basketball, volleyball and athletics, archery, swimming pool trips, riding at various stables in and around Königsfeld, sailing, table tennis, snooker and darts, mountain biking, fitness training in our own weights room. In winter, ice hockey and ice skating on our own ice rink and trips to nearby ski areas.

Conveniently situated in the Spandau area to the west of Berlin, International School Villa Amalienhof (ISVA) is a day school which follows the National Curriculum of England and Wales and the Berliner Rahmenlehrplan. We offer exclusive, quality education from primary school to sixth form to local and international children. Landesschule Pforta

Landesschule Pforta is a Grade 9-12 German boarding school with a long tradition and special concept of furthering talented students in languages, music and natural sciences. Situated close to the cities of Leipzig and Naumburg in eastern Germany, instruction is through German, and every student has to choose one of three centers of interest: Foreign Languages, Music or Natural Sciences.

At Pforta, about 400 students from all parts of Germany live and learn from the 9th to the 12th grade, i.e. from the age of 14 to 18. Our boarding houses do not offer merely accommodation for those students who live too far away to go home every day, but also a safe and secure living and learning environment.

Conditions of admission include good performances at school, social involvement, and passing the entrance examination. The school-leaving certificate (Abitur) prepares graduates for university study.

The aim of our education program is not the constriction of one-sided specialization, but rather the broadening of general higher education in a field where individual interest and capabilities motivate to additional efforts and higher performances.

Founded in 2000 by the state government of Berlin, Nelson Mandela School is an international comprehensive school in Berlin, providing quality bilingual education in grades 1-13 to children from a wide variety of backgrounds. Phorms Education is a private, internationally-minded school located in the tranquil small town of Steinbach, set in the foothills of the Taunus Mountains. Steinbach is only 20 minutes from Frankfurt city centre, in the Hesse region of West-Central Germany. We offer whole-day bilingual education in German and English for nursery, primary & secondary school children. Phorms Education also has another campus in Frankfurt City which offers bilingual primary school education.

The curriculum of our private school taught is based on the outline curriculum of the federal state of Hesse. Frankfurt International School (FIS)
Courses / Programs
The Frankfurt International School (FIS), located just outside of Frankfurt and founded in 1961, is an independent, co-educational day school, which offers an educational program for students of all nationalities. Frankfurt International School (FIS) together with the International School Wiesbaden (ISW) is the largest and second oldest international school in Germany.

The school is organized into four school divisions: the Primary Division age 3 to Grade 1, the Elementary Division Grades 2-5, and the Upper School Grades 6-12, all of which are in Oberursel.

The International School Wiesbaden (ISW) operates as a branch of FIS at a separate campus in Wiesbaden for students age 3 to Grade 8.

FIS is recognised as an allgemein bildende Ergänzungsschule. It is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School and a founding member of the Organisation.

There are currently almost 1800 students from 55 different countries attending FIS and ISW, including roughly 30% American, 19% German, 8% British, 4% Japanese,and 12% Korean. It employs over 300 well-qualified and experienced faculty and staff from almost 30 different countries.

Berlin British School
Courses / Programs
Berlin British School (BBS) is an independent, international English-speaking school for children ages 3 to 18 years, centrally located on three sites in the borough of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, serving the international community of Berlin-Brandenburg. The school accepts applications for admission at any time in the academic year and any level of entry except at the start of or during Year 11 (10th Grade) and 13 (12th Grade).

The academic programme at BBS is based on the English National Curriculum and prepares students for the IGCSE and the IB Diploma. Both qualifications are recognised and respected in Germany, as well as internationally. The pass rate for IGCSE and IB is almost 100%, which reflects the high academic standards of the school.

The language of instruction is English, with German tuition provided for native and non native speakers. BBS provides individual attention in small classes. An IB world school and certified by the Cambridge International Examsboard, BBS is an accredited member of COBIS (Council Of British International Schools) and ECIS (European Council Of International Schools).
Education Programs (Based on the English National Curriculum)

- Early Years (Nursery, reception & preschool): Structured learning from the age of 3 years.

- Primary School: At the completion of Year 1, pupils join the Primary School.
