Situated in the heart of Downtown Mississauga, Mississauga Secondary Academy is a private and licensed high school (Grades 9-12) that offers programs to international and local students. In addition to general academics and the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), we also provide TOEFL, IELTS, and University Preparation classes.

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
In order for a student to receive an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), students must earn a minimum of 30 credits, including 18 compulsory credits and 12 optional credits.

18 Compulsory Credits:
• 4 credits in English (1 credit per grade)
• 3 credits in Mathematics (1 credit in Grade 11 or Grade 12)
• 2 credits in Science
• 1 credit in Canadian History
• 1 credit in Canadian Geography
• 1 credit in the Arts
• 1 credit in Health and Physical Education
• 1 credit in French as Second Language
• 0.5 credit in Career Studies
• 0.5 credit in Civics
• 3 credits from the following groups (1 credit from each group)

Group 1:
- Additional credit in English
- French as a Second Language
- A Native Language
- Classical or International Language
- Social Sciences and the Humanities
- Canadian and World Studies
- Guidance and Career Education
- Cooperative Education

Group 2:
- Additional credit in Health and Physical Education
- The Arts
- Business Studies
- French as a Second Language
- Cooperative Education

Group 3:
- Additional credit in Science (Grade 11 or 12)
- Technological Education
- French as a Second Language
- Computer Studies
- Cooperative Education

Optional Credits:
Students must also earn an additional 12 optional credits from the courses listed as available in the school’s course calendar to meet OSSD’s 30 credits requirements.
