Cornelius School is an integral part of the St. Cornelius Parish and community at large. In conjunction with the evangelizing mission of the church and parish, St. Cornelius School is called to teach the message of Jesus in a Catholic context. Our unique role is to instill in the children the future responsibility of becoming loving adult disciples of Jesus.

Our Philosophy:

St. Cornelius Elementary Parish School is devoted to and strives for quality Catholic education where the primary purpose is to instill in each child a knowledge and love of God. We strive to educate students spiritually, intellectually, affectively, emotionally, physically, and socially. Our students are the most important concern of the school community. We believe that decisions made by the school community have in mind the students’ learning and development, as well as their socio-economic background.

The students, as part of the school community, have a responsibility to themselves and to others to do their best and to respect each member of our school / parish community and all they encounter in their daily lives. We strive to foster respect for individual difference within the context of the common good for all.

Keeping in mind each child’s uniqueness, we believe that learning is achieved through the combined effort and interaction of faculty, parents, and students. While acknowledging the parent / guardian as primary educator, we believe that parents are partners in the educational process of their children and that students cannot develop to their fullest potential without cooperation from the home. We believe that parents and faculty alike have the responsibility to be Christian role models for the students.

Education Programs:

The St. Cornelius Preschool Program offers classes for 3 and 4 year old children. The 4 year old program is five days from 7:55am to 11:00am. The 3 year old programs include either a three day per week program (M, W, & F from 12pm - 2:30pm), or a five day per week program (M-F, 12:00pm - 2:30pm). Both 3 year old programs offer an extended day option before school (6:30am - 12:00pm) and after school (2:30pm - 6:00pm).

- We also offer an extended day option until 6:00pm.
- Registrations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Children's House Lake Meadows provides distinct and proven Early Education Experience programs for children ages 6 weeks through to 12 years of age. The Children's House is privately owned, and currently operates 4 facilities in Cook County, Illinois, including Chicago City, Park Forest and Markham. The Children's House Lake Meadows is fully licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.

We employ only qualified teachers and teachers aides, and keep our class sizes small to provide your child with a comfortable environment that is conductive to learning. Our endeavor is to provide parents, regardless of their hours of work or school schedule, with quality care for their children. Because of our desire to accommodate the many schedules incurred in the 21st century, The Children's House is open 130 hours a week, versus the normal 60 hours at most child care centers.

Children's Garden Montessori is located in Oak Park, west of Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. It is a Montessori Pre-school & Kindergarten with daycare education programs for children ages 2 through to 6 years, of all races, religions and national origin. Children's Garden Montessori pre-school is a privately owned and operated school, chartered in Oak Park and licensed by the Department of Children and Family Services.

We serve Oak Park, Melrose Park, Galewood, Montclare, Elmwood Park and surrounding communities. Children must be at least 2 yrs old before entry and can stay until they complete the Kindergarten Year. We employ both Montessori & Early Childhood Education trained teachers.

Lincoln Park Preschool (LPP) is a private, early childhood program / day care center located on W. Belden Avenue, at Belden and Lincoln Park West in Chicago, Cook County, IL. We have another school, Lincoln Park Preparatory School, located at Germania and Clark Street – just south of North Avenue in the city. Our early childhood programs (for children ages 2 - 6 years) primary focus is the growth and well being of the child. We provide this best by having a warm, open, nurturing atmosphere that is conducive to learning.

Our school is a place where children can develop self-confidence and build a commitment to learning. They take part in discovery-based activities that are developmentally appropriate. We provide a healthy balance between teacher-directed and child-directed activities.

Children are encouraged to build upon problem solving skills, as well as their creativity and socialization skills. Our teachers take into account the individuality of each child. Activities that are stimulating to the child’s imagination and creative development can then be provided.

LPP is NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) accredited and state and city licensed.
