Enjoy an unforgettable summer holiday in France! FIL organizes French language summer camps in France for international teenagers from all over the word aged from 11 to 17 years old. FIL summer programs combine French language workshops with a wide range of recreational activities, evenings and cultural excursions. With FIL, you improve your French while having fun! We encourage our participants to speak French all day long, in addition to their French language classes - through "immersion totale". We can also offer tailor-made year round options for educational groups.
A language holiday with FIL is a real adventure: on horseback, in a kayak, tackling ropes above a canyon, wake boarding or in the swimming pool, you will speak French all day long.
Our participants come from throughout the World to spend an amazing time together at FIL! Our groups are the « Juniors » aged 11 and 15, and the « Ados" aged 15 and 17. Our « plus » : there are young French people in each group.
Our method? We are convinced that you need to practice a lot to be able to speak a foreign language, so FIL's priority is to develop oral expression through daily French practice. We encourage our participants to speak French all day long, in addition to the French workshop they have every day. Speaking the language of Molière must become automatic: they must live, feel, think and also dream in our language! And with FIL, they'll live in a French-speaking environment!
Spending a summer with FIL means sharing daily life in French in an international atmosphere! But it is also a lot of great activities, original and creative French workshops, meeting awesome people, and sharing unforgettable moments.

With FIL, you’ll live in French all day long.
* The French workshops:
7 courses per 11-Day stay = 21 hours total
10 courses per 14-Day stay = 27 hours total* In small groups of 6 to 8 people of the same level
* Very creative learning sessions: role-playing games, interviews, radio or video reporting.
* The native French FIL instructors are experienced and qualified "French as a foreign language" teachers too. They know how to adapt the workshops perfectly to each participant.
* Individual follow-up for French progress and well-being at the camp + no entry tests + detailed certificate
** GOAL : With FIL, it’s more about speaking and expressing yourself in fun learning sessions than writing. Our students make great progress in understanding French.
You'll gain confidence which will make you feel -FIL :-) like speaking French. You will quickly enlarge your vocabulary, learn new expressions and tell jokes in French!
Our aim is to Make all participants feel at ease in expressing their needs, their personalities and difficulties. With the FIL method, rather than being punished for any mistakes, the participants learn from them and receive constant guidance to have plenty of opportunity to express themselves in French and understand so much more!
With FIL you learn how to put your French into practice by means other than those at school. In two weeks your French won't be faultless but you 'll speak far more fluently by living in a French-speaking environment. Thanks to our communicative, fun and very practical method, you'll be amazed by your progress.
Our home base, called « Le Noell », is located in an exceptionally sunny environment in the middle of our private 50 hectare estate with woodlands, moors, prairies and many streams on a 900 meter high mountain.
« Le Noell » is situated 5km from the village of Saint Laurent de Cerdans, in the Languedoc Roussillon region, with the road ending at our front door the center is located in a unique, safe setting.
At « Le Noell », participants can enjoy: swimming-pool, cosy spots outside, several common rooms, volley-ball, free WIFI (restricted user-time), laundry service for multiple stays.
The cosy bedrooms accommodate from 4 to 6 students in bunk beds and each have a shower-room on suite.
Fresh local food is cooked in our kitchen and we cater for special diets and food allergies.
At FIL, you'll speak French all day long. All activities are conducted in French and you will use French in shops, at the market, to talk to your sailing instructor or ask for your meeting point...
What if you do not understand something or you can't find the right French words? Don't worry, we are always ready to give you a helping hand, the FIL team and the entire group especially the French young people - "Jeunes Français". In that way, you're improving without noticing it!
We follow each participant individually and give them support with language or personal problems. During the language holiday, you'll have 3 personal evaluation talks and daily self-evaluation.
After the FIL course, your parents will receive an evaluation certificate with the progress you have made, based on the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
During the holiday, a photo album exclusively reserved for the families will be available on line.
The safety and well-being of the participants are our number one priority. All programmes are accompanied by members of the FIL team. They are all experienced and qualified to teach French as a foreign language and have been rigorously selected by us. Present from morning to evening, they teach each creative workshop and accompany every excursion, even activities on late evenings. The instructors make sure that every participant in the groups feel good every single day of the stay.
The sport activities are supervised by qualified professionals. The transportation is carried out by a coach company and the short trips are made by minibus, with experienced drivers. The programmes, the supervision, the activities, the transportation and the accommodation are in compliance with the regulations of the relevant French Government Ministry.
Between the Pyrénées mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, FIL is established in the heart of the southern region of Pyrénées Orientales in the Languedoc Roussillon Region. Discover the south of France differently from the perspective of the French Catalan region!
Fil is located in a village Saint Laurent de Cerdans far from city perturbations.
FIL's home base is 60 km to Perpignan, close to the Spanish border. You can land at Barcelona or Perpignan airport or arrive to Paris train station. FIL organizes airport shuttles and an accompanied train trip from Paris railway stations to FIL camp.
The French as a foreign language quality certification was set up to identify, recognize, and promote French as a foreign language Centres of which the language training offered and the services present is guaranteed to be of high quality.
FIL obtained the French as a foreign language quality certification on October 13th 2017 (NEW ACCREDITATION on october 2021). Approved centers guarantee you the highest quality of linguistic training and assistance in 5 areas : training, teaching / teachers / welcome, support / premises, safety, equipment /management.

Riviera French Institute organises French language camps for young learners and teenagers on the Côte d’Azur in Southern France.
