Community Christian School (CCS), located in Stockbridge, Georgia, is a non-profit, non-denominational Christian school offering grades Pre-K through 12. CCS opened in 1997 with 32 students. Meeting in the beautiful facilities provided by Community Bible Church, CCS has grown to more than 800 students in just nine short years. CCS believes with our philosophy of “bringing excellence to life,” our location, rigorous academic programs, and our facilities, CCS will continue to provide an outstanding Christian education for many generations to come.

Community Christian School is a college preparatory school committed to teaching students from a Christian worldview. Our students focus on the mastery of the basic skills in each of the main subject areas, with a major emphasis on reading and mathematics. Elementary School:

Elementary students at Community Christian School focus on the basics of education to create a foundation for further studies. The core classes of Bible, reading, mathematics, and writing are supplemented with science, health, and social studies. The teachers of CCS are committed to the development of strong readers and excellent writers. Our reading curriculum emphasizes phonics and our writing program has been created for our students to instill a love of creative writing. The elementary students have weekly classes in computer, art, Spanish, physical education, and music. The fourth and fifth grade students participate in an intensive band and chorus program to accentuate their abilities in fine arts.

Middle School:
Middle school students at Community Christian School use the building blocks formed in elementary school as they develop academic abilities requiring a greater degree of critical thinking and abstract reasoning skills. The core classes of Bible, English, mathematics, science, and history are taught by a highly qualified team of teachers. All middle school students participate in intensive music instruction by taking either band or chorus as one of their enrichment courses. Exploratory enrichment courses are taught in nine week sessions to allow the students a variety of concentrated experiences. Study skills, art, physical education, computers, and Spanish are the enrichment courses currently available.

High School:
High school students at Community Christian School follow a college preparatory plan of coursework and participate in a variety of activities to develop each student spiritually, academically, physically and socially. The highly qualified teachers are given the opportunity to mentor students throughout the year due to our low student to teacher ratio. Advanced Placement and honors courses are provided in order to prepare the students for the most competitive colleges. Extracurricular programs offered at Community Christian School include: athletics, student government, clubs, mission trips, class trips and peer tutoring programs. In addition to the academic criteria, the graduation requirements include service to the community to teach the students an awareness of the needs of our community and their ability to make a difference for Christ.

Open Door Preschool, Augusta

Located in Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia, Open Door Preschool offers infant, toddler and preschool programs for children of 14 months to 5 years. The school was founded in 1964 when a group of parents opened the first integrated non-sectarian non-profit preschool in Augusta. It was the only preschool with an ‘open door’ policy and was entirely administered by the parents. Today, after 45 years, Open Door Preschool continues to provide a nurturing environment for children.

Under the guidance of a lead teacher, our staff plans activities that relate to the developmental goals established and include experiences in art, crafts, construction with blocks and other building toys, use of manipulatory materials, games, presentation of stories, books, music and rhythm and movement.
