Loctaed in Trapani, in the northwest of Sicily, Scuola Virgilio is an Italian language school offering intensive Italian Lessons for all levels. Our school took shape as a few young people from Trapani got together after some years spent abroad in different countries of Europe. Back in Sicily, they decided to make the most of their passion for travelling and cultural exchange. These young people with a genuine European background,  put toghether their different talents and competences to give birth to Scuola Virgilio, which is now a renowned school and cultural center and host to many internationla students.

In Sicily we’ve got it all... plus many more things that make our region really unique. For example, Sicily is the birthplace of Italian poetry and Italian literature that first appeared here in the XII century. In the same fashion, the Italian novel and modern Italian prose from the late XIX up to the early XXI century have been shaped and reshaped by Sicilian writers such as Verga, Pirandello, Sciascia, Camilleri, and many others. As German poet Goethe once put it: “Without Sicily, Italy leaves no image in the soul. Here is the key to everything.”

Outside our classrooms there is a whole city to discover: this is why we propose to our students to follow us on our walks and visits in and outside Trapani.

First of all, you will discover Trapani through its architecture, and particularly its many Churches. The Sanctuary of the Holy Virgin of Trapani and the nearby Museo Pepoli will deserve an entire visit for themselves.

Another walk will take you to Trapani's ports and fishermen's neighborhoods, including a visit to Torre di Ligny's Sea Museum.
