Paramita Academy of Makeup Inc. was established in 2002 by Jessica Obregon, a 32 year old identical twin who grew up on Prince Edward Island, on the East coast of Canada. She created the school to teach others who share an interest and passion for Makeup Artistry the skills required to reach their goal.
Jessica received her certificate in Makeup Artistry in London, England in the fall of 1999. Bringing her new skills back to Canada, Jessica worked in Toronto, Charlottetown, and Montreal. Her portfolio includes work with Ellen Page "Mrs. Ashboro's Cat", Michael Smith "Chef at Home" Food Network, Peter Mansbridge, C.B.C. The National and more.
"I went to a school that had seventeen people in my class and I find this to be very common in makeup schools, they seem to be filling the classes without any consideration towards how the student will be effected by this. I decided from the beginning that my school would have small classes. Paramita's classes are very one-on-one, I see everything the students are doing and offer constructive criticism as they work. With other classes, by the time the teacher makes their rounds in the room the student will have almost finished the makeup application and it could be all wrong because the focus isn't directly on their work and how they are doing. Larger schools have people paying to get their makeup done by the students at the school. Essentially the students are working for the school, not for themselves. There is a limit when it comes to makeup, from there your experience and creativity are everything.
I am still, to this day, close friends with my graduates and they call or email me whenever they need advice or to share their latest success. I opened this school so that I can, not only teach my students to be the best makeup artists that they can be, but to also be there for them as they grow in their careers and their lives."

A. Students do makeup on each other.
Q. I'm not meaning any disrespect when I ask this, but with your bootcamps being just over a week, how does it compare to other schools who are way more expensive and take longer periods of time? I'm just trying to gather as much information as I can.

A. You can pay by certified cheque, bank draft, money order, cash, email money transfer or paypal (no personal cheques accepted)
