The Anna Fiorentini Theatre & Film School, London:
The Anna Fiorentini Theatre and Film School runs dancing, singing, acting, design and film classes with professionals from theatre, film and television for children and young people from underprivileged backgrounds. We are located in Laura Place, Lower Clapton in the East London Borough of Hackney, 25 minutes north of London city. The Anna Fiorentini Theatre & Film School opened in 2001 as a Prince's Trust Business. Since then it has won 3 Business of London Awards and has a growing reputation within the performing arts industry. As well as the regular timetable, students also have the opportunity to enter our in-house competitions, such as Stars in their Eyes, Voice Idol and Oscars. Every year the school puts on a Variety Performance at the Hackney Empire. Students have the opportunity to partake in this show and learn what it really means to work as a professional. The audience consists of casting directors, producers, tv/film directors and funders as well as family and friends.

In the Saturday morning school, students follow a timetable of Drama, Singing, Dance and Film with Design providing an alternative option to any of these classes.

In the Saturday afternoon school, students follow the same timetable but the drama and film class is combined. This is the only difference between the morning and afternoon schools.

The Docklands School onPhoto of Performing Arts School in London, UK Wednesday evenings will consist of a timetable of Drama, Film, Dance and Singing. There will also be occasional Master Classes on Backstage Craft.

Singing Lessons:

Students will develop confidence in their voices both as soloists and in groups. They will learn a range of techniques including pitching, holding a tune, harmonising and how to express emotion through song

Acting and Drama:
This class will actively encourage the student to creatively express themselves. They will develop confidence in improvising situations, script work and devloping sketches as part of a team. Film:
In the film class, students will learn the differences between acting on stage and acting for the camera. Students will work on short term projects, developing their own scripts for soap operas, commercials and short films etc. They will have the opportunity to film these, taking on the role of actor, director, cameraman or floor manager. Occasionally, professional directors are invited to give masterclasses in 'acting for the camera'.

Dance:

Design and Stagecraft:

So much of a successful production relies on good set design, make-up and costume design. In this class the student will learn about the hard work involved behind the scenes as well as learning some valuable skills that may inspire other career choices. Students anticipating a career in the performing arts profession will learn to respect the work of the technicians who make things happen behind the scenes.
