Worth School, Turners Hill:

The school is situated in Turners Hill, West Sussex, in South East England, only 50 km from London and 12 km from Gatwick Airport. At Worth, we see our pupils as 'Lanterns to Light'. Inspiring pupils to think, learn, create, imagine and perform is crucial if each individual is to develop their intellectual potential. Pupils are not merely taught what they need to know but, much more importantly, how to learn.

A major strength of the school is the broad curriculum and the all-round education that pupils enjoy. Worth is proud to offer the International Baccalaureate alongside the traditional A Level curriculum, so that Sixth Form pupils can have as wide a choice as possible in the type of curriculum that suits them best. Examination results in both the IB and A Levels are high and our students enter the very best universities in the UK and abroad.

Activities Programme:

There is a diverse and wide-ranging programme of events and activities for pupils outside the curriculum at Worth, in three main areas.

i) A comprehensive activities programme for all students in the school
ii) A voluntary Community Service programme open to all Year 9 to 13 pupils. These activities take place both on and off-site.

There is a comprehensive range of activities into which all pupils have to opt throughout the course of the year. All students take part in two activities a term, however in the Summer Term this is reduced to one for Years 13,12 and 11. If a student has a school commitment, such as choir, the Young Enterprise Scheme or Rugby Sevens, or is studying an extra subject outside the curriculum, then that can count as their activity. Many students will, however, choose an activity in addition to their commitment.

Rochester Independent College, Kent
Courses / Programs
Rochester Independent College, in the County of Kent, just east of London, offers a distinctive alternative to a conventional sixth form and a stepping stone between school and university.

Established in 1984, we accept day students from the age of 11. Boarding is available for A-level students and Year 11 students on GCSE courses who are aged 16 or older.

Students come to us from all over the UK and the world, as well as the local area. There are no bells ringing, no uniforms and everybody is on first name terms. The College has an atmosphere closer to university than school where students are treated as young adults.

About 65 of the College's 280 students are boarders. Our Halls combine the informality of a university residence with the supervision and pastoral support appropriate for young adults.

The College offers students the opportunity to thrive in an atmosphere of managed independence and acts as a stepping stone between school and university.

Our focus is on examination success in a lively, supportive and informal atmosphere. Students are encouraged to be themselves and achieve exam results that often exceed their expectations. Rochester Independent College is accredited by the ISC (Independent Schools Council).
