Spanish immersion for kids in the Silicon Valley CA area

Spanish Immersion School Centro Armonia, Silicon Valley:
Located in Campbell, and serving San Jose and the Silicon Valley in the San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California, Centro Armonia Spanish Immersion School offers year round programs for children ages 2.5 to 7 years. In our dedicated Spanish language programs, children are completely immersed in Spanish as they learn the skills that will prepare them for successful entry into elementary school and above. We offer half-day, full-day, and extended care Spanish courses, as well as after-school Enrichment programs and Spanish Summer Camps.

Spanish Full Immersion Programs for Children Ages 2.5 to 7:

Preschool Spanish Classes:
- Preschool classes are from 9am-12pm or 1pm-4pm
- Extended care is available from 7am-9am and 12noon-6pm

Arrival and Math
As the children arrive and are greeted, they join the teacher for math manipulative exploration. While the 2.5 year olds spend much of this time on free exploration, the 3 and 4 year olds have specific math concepts that they focus on.

Music and Movement
The children sing and use movement to work on fine and gross motor skills as they develop the Spanish language.

Language Development
Activities vary from storybooks, felt board stories, puppets, alphabet related activities, to pre-reading and pre-writing skills.

Snack and Outdoor Recess
The children eat a snack that is provided by their parents and play freely outdoors (weather permitting). They have access to playground equipment, easel painting, sand box, water/rice table, and additional outdoor toys.

Circle Time
Oral language development through books, songs, discussions and demonstrations.

Centers–Free Choice
The children choose from any of the areas of interest in the classroom such as puppets, blocks, puzzles, play dough, cooking corner, musical instruments, dramatic play area, writing center, listening center. The teacher and the aid interact with the children, individually, or in small groups.

Journal Writing
The children keep a journal at school where they write or draw for approximately 10 minutes on themes of their choice.

Kindergarten Classes:
Daily schedule: M-F 9am-3pm

Curriculum includes:
- Language Arts (speaking, reading & writing Spanish)
- Math
- Science (in the classroom & field trips)
- PE
- Music
- Computers
- Social Studies

After School Spanish Program:
The curriculum focuses on oral language development. The class emphasizes vocabulary and structure of the spoken language. This is done through songs, books, games and other activities. Academics such as reading, writing and math will not be emphasized.

- Days: Monday & Wednesday- Hours: 3:30pm-5:30pm
- Ages: 5 to 7 years

The advanced class curriculum will focus on advanced grammar and vocabulary development and Spanish reading and writing.

Class Placement: Placement of the classes is subject to evaluation by the instructor of each individual child's language skills. You must attend both weekly sessions of the program. We are unable to accommodate changes in a child's schedule. Snacks will not be provided. Therefore, please be sure that your child has a snack before coming to class.

Spanish Music Class:
Experience the magic of Mr. Santos music class! The Spanish singing and music classes are a fun way for children to reinforce the Spanish language they learn in the classroom.

Our children love Mr. Santos’ music classes because he is very dynamic and entertaining.

Summer Program:
Summer program is open for 8 weeks, beginning Ende June to mid August. School hours are from 9am-12noon or 1pm-4pm. Extended care is available from 7am-9am and 12noon-6pm. Enrollment is on a first come, first serve basis.
