Lango Discovery, Long Beach:
Based in Long Beach CA, and serving local students in Long Beach, Seal Beach and San Pedro and surrounding neighborhoods, Lango Discovery provides language classes in Spanish, Mandarin Chinese and French to children ages 12 months to 11 years. Lango Discovery offers classes for kids in schools, after school programs, day cares, community centers, and at the students' own schools and studios. Lango was established on the belief that every American child should learn a second language. Frustrated by the lack of options to teach our own kids another language (and having met many other families with the same concern), we set out to create a program that would teach kids new languages in a way that they would love.
Spanish, French & Mandarin Language Classes:

Toddler and Parent Language Classes:
- Ages 1.5 to 3 years
These "play classes" are great for parents and caregivers who want to learn a new language alongside their children!
Accompanied by parents or caregivers, these young students start learning a new language through a variety of activities designed to engage their minds and bodies.
Music and movement form the foundation for the classes, as the children sing simple, rhythmic songs and dance, run, spin and jump around the room!
Language Classes for Preschoolers:
- Ages 3-5 years
These classes are great for kids who are enrolled in preschool, but have not yet started kindergarten. Kids learn key phrases in their new language through simple, repeated songs and chants.
Meanwhile, they become familiar with more complex aspects of the language by engaging in "adventures".
These adventures take students to other lands and cultures to ensure that their language instruction is combined with cultural exposure.
Language Classes for Elementary School Students:
- Ages 6-11
Our elementary students learn new languages through adventures and activities that require increasing levels of engagement and understanding.
A simple literacy component ensures that these students not only listen, speak, sing and play in their new language, but read and write as well.

Let’s Play in Spanish or Juguemos en Español is a Spanish language immersion program for kids up to age 7, based in Campbell, in the San Francisco Bay Area of California with many other locations throughout the country. Courses include Reading & Writing in Spanish, Conversation Classes, Mommy & Me classes, after-school classes, and more.Created by Susy Dorn, Let's Play Spanish is a place where children learn Spanish in a fun way. As part of our philosophy in teaching Spanish for children, we believe in music and laughter as the most effective way kids learn and grow.

Located in the Mira Mesa area of northern San Diego County (just 30 minutes north of Downtown San Diego) Yak Academy is a foreign language center for children ages 1-10. Currently, we offer Spanish immersion classes taught by native speaking instructors through game, music, song and art. Situated in Alameda CA, Bay Language Academy provides beginner to advanced level classes and after school programs to children and adults in a variety of languages. We currently offer Spanish, Mandarin, French, Japanese, Italian, Korean, English, German and Arabic. Focusing on the specific needs of students and their parents, the classes are offered once, twice or three times weekly after school in 75 to 150-minute sessions. Parents are informed after each class of what was covered and what is expected from the young students for the next session.
The overall method is based on a modular teaching with an approach based on task, where a balance between practice and theory is achieved. The aim is to develop effective communication skills through the elementary development of the four basic language known skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
