Cambridge International School:
Cambridge International School is a very happy, hardworking, private school in Cambridge, a university town in the county of Cambridgeshire, in East Anglia in south east England, about 80 km (50 miles) north of London. We provide an inspiring, exciting education for children aged 3-16, made up of pupils from all over the world. Located in the Cherry Hinton suburb of Cambridge, we are proud to serve families from from Cherry Hinton, Shelford, Grantchester and other communities throughout the Cambridge region. We offer a broad and enriching curriculum, striving to achieve the highest educational standards in a caring and supportive environment. Opened in 2006, the Cambridge International School now has classes for each year group from Nursery to IGCSE.

Infants:
The Infant Department has three classes and is also affiliated to Baby Unicorns at Cherry Hinton Hall. Caspian Class (National Curriculum Reception, age 4-5) Coral Class (National Curriculum Year 1, age 5-6) Caribbean Class (National Curriculum Year 1, age 6-7) We have on average 12 children in our classes with a teacher and an assistant. We firmly believe that children will learn when they are ready and when they are in the right environment. We do not introduce formal academic work too early, believing that children really do learn a great deal through play, through using their imagination, learning to share and play happily with their classmates at Nursery and Reception level. The level of achievement our children reach is very impressive.

Juniors:

Junior children are taught how to recognise choPhoto of Private Prep School in Cambridge, UKice, use and effect of figurative language, vocabulary and patterns of language, broadening their own vocabulary and using it in their writing. Children will participate in a variety of plays including mime and choral work to explore characters and issues within myths.

In Mathematics, we are looking at fractions and decimals. The children have learned to find fractions of numbers and quantities, equivalence, conversion of mixed numbers to improper fractions and vice versa, addition, subtraction and multiplication of fractions.

The children will also work on percentages, decimals and cover work on ratio and proportion. The children will also work extensively on shape, space and measures as well as data handling. We will have a regular focus on tackling word problems. I am particularly interested in the kinaesthetic teaching of maths and will be trying to incorporate this in lessons. Decimal karate and rugby with fractions are two of my firm intentions.

Seniors:

The Senior School is a really happy place. We have five classes with approximately 14 children in each year. Although there is some flexibility in age range in each class it is generally the case that children are placed in their cImage of Private Prep School in Cambridge, UKorrect chronological year group. In exceptional cases, children are put up a year and close attention is paid to how well these students fit in socially. We have two sites, the new Jill Sturdy Centre (JSC)at 5 Glisson Road, and our main site at Cherry Hinton Hall. Upper School students use both sites, enjoying the spacious art room at the JSC and modern laboratory while also getting great pleasure from the beautiful grounds and family feel of Cherry Hinton Hall.

Subjects include English, maths, science, history, geography, French, Spanish, art, Business Enterprise, filming and sport.

Sport:
The adjacent, marked off sports pitch allows our pupils to continue to take part in a good variety of outdoor sports and a programme of competitive events against the local schools is being organised.

The Music House for Children, located in Shepherd's Bush, West London, is a music teaching and training school offering music and movement sessions to babies and children up to 6 years old. Based in London, Periplus Home Education is a not-for–profit organisation that provides high-quality, accessible learning solutions for young people aged 11-18 in the UK and overseas. We offer live, on-line teaching to groups and individuals and can provide online tuition in individual subjects at any level or a full taught secondary school curriculum leading to examinations if required. In addition, we offer intensive, short-term tuition prior to examinations.

We believe home education should be tailored towards each student’s own capability and needs. Our courses are diverse, flexible and designed to meet individual requirements. We provide a customised learning experience, supported with an extensive collection of study modes, resources, extra-curricular subjects and tutorials. Each student has a full support network of tutors and a forum where you can link with others to share problems, answers, hints and tips.

The Anna Fiorentini Theatre & Film School, London
Courses / Programs
The Anna Fiorentini Theatre and Film School runs dancing, singing, acting, design and film classes with professionals from theatre, film and television for children and young people from underprivileged backgrounds. We are located in Laura Place, Lower Clapton in the East London Borough of Hackney, 25 minutes north of London city. The Anna Fiorentini Theatre & Film School opened in 2001 as a Prince's Trust Business. Since then it has won 3 Business of London Awards and has a growing reputation within the performing arts industry.

As well as the regular timetable, students also have the opportunity to enter our in-house competitions, such as Stars in their Eyes, Voice Idol and Oscars, (a chance to show off drama pieces and win an AF School Oscar). Every year the Hackney based school puts on a Variety Performance at the Hackney Empire. All students have the opportunity to partake in this show and learn what it really means to work as a professional and as part of a team. The audience consists of casting directors, producers, tv/film directors and funders as well as family and friends.
We run dancing, singing, acting, design and film classes with professionals from theatre, film and television for children and young people from underprivileged backgrounds. Each Saturday during term-time, 165 students, aged 7 - 18 follow a time-table of Acting and Drama, Film, Singing, Dance and Set and Costume Design. These classes are taught by leading professionals who have a great rapport with young people. We also provide adult classes.
