Brockhurst and Marlston House Schools are twin day and boarding schools that share the same estate at Marlston, Hermitage in the Berkshire countryside. Brockhurst teaches boys from six to thirteen years of age, while Marlston House teaches girls of the same age. Boys and girls are taught together in our vibrant co-educational pre-prep school (ages 3-6).

Co-educational Pre-Prep School (ages 3-6)
In the pre-prep school, the nursery class finishes at mid-day and afternoon lessons finish at 3.30 pm. The curriculum is designed to include the requirements of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage), with an emphasis on the development of social skills and the boosting of each child's confidence.
We believe that a thorough grounding in numeracy and literacy lays the foundation of a successful and confident school career. Our pre-prep school aims to provide children with a happy start to school life, the opportunity to play and work together in a happy and ordered atmosphere, and to foster good manners, kindness, and consideration for others according to the aims of the EYFS at the nursery stage.
Single-Sex Prep Schools
With full-time & part-time boarding facilities for boys (in Brockhurt) and girls (in Marlston House)
Both schools offer a very wide curriculum, with all students learning Mathematics, Science, English, French Technology, Geography, History, and Scripture from the outset. Both boys and girls are introduced to Latin in Year 4 and German thereafter.
Each school has a well-equipped ICT suite and computing is taught as a subject in its own right to all girls and boys, as well as being used as an aid to learning in other subjects. There is a generous allocation in every student's timetable for Art, Music, Drama and Physical Education.
Greek is taught to boys and girls sitting for scholarships. In addition, once the scholarship exams are at an end, Russian is studied as an additional subject along with extended curriculum topics.
Considerable advantage is taken of field trips and outings both locally and further field.
Common Entrance Exam Preparation
- Brockhurst prepares boys for Common Entrance and Scholarship exams at the age of 13 to leading senior independent schools.
- Marlston House prepares girls are prepared for entry to leading public schools at either 11+ or 13+ through the Common Entrance Examination and Scholarship papers.

Located in Lymington, Hampshire on the south coast of England. Hordle Walhampton School is a forward-looking, independent boarding and day school for boys and girls from ages 2-13. Day Programmes run for students from Nursery through Prep School, while our boarding programmes cater to children from ages 8-13.We offer flexible boarding arrangements to suit home and child.The boarding house is a home for our children for seven nights a week and this requires good facilities to ensure the home-from-home environment is maintained. Excellent food, activities and trips are a vital part of the prep school boarding experience, and our high-quality, comfortable dorms and living space are also very important.

Kent College Preparatory School & Kent College Pembury is a leading independent girls' boarding and day school with a Senior School (ages 11-18) and Prep School (ages 3-11) sharing the same site in Kent, in the south-east of England. As well as providing an excellent learning environment, Kent College offers a secure and happy home for boarders. At KC, family-run boarding houses provide spacious, comfortable accommodation and there is a friendly, relaxed atmosphere in all houses. Our boarders come from all over the world and we maintain a good balance of British and international girls in houses and classes.
Most girls are full boarders who stay at weekends, whilst a number of local girls are weekly boarders who go home on Friday evenings. Flexi-boarders pay on a per-night basis.
The Senior curriculum is planned with due regard to the Key Stage 3 (KS3) National Curriculum, although we provide a greater variety of subjects. Students in Years 10 and 11 are usually aged 14 to 16 and follow the two-year GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) course with public examinations at the end of Year 11. In Sixth Form, students can choose from a variety of A-level options.
