Columbia International College:
Columbia International College is the largest private junior and senior boarding high school in Canada. Located in Hamilton, Ontario, Columbia believes in the individuality of each student and tailors its resources to effectively meet the unique academic, social, emotional and physical (ASEP) needs of our students. As a result, 100 per cent of our students since 1995 have received admission to top universities worldwide, many with scholarships.
Young ASEP Achievers Program
Students who are under 16 as of July 31 of each year are placed in the YAA Program to ensure they receive the special care and attention they need to grow and mature into responsible adults. All YAA students are assigned to houseparents who provide around-the-clock care. Our small student-to-parent ratio of 1:15 allows houseparents to care for each student like he or she would be cared for at home.
The YAA program provides age-appropriate guidance and care to our young students as they transition into independent living. Through this program, our young students have the rewarding experience of developing routines and skills to succeed at university and in life.
Character Development Program
Our character building program is designed to help students build character through leadership training and experiential enrichment in order to prepare them to excel in today’s competitive world. We have developed a multifaceted academic and experiential approach that supports students to reach their full potential.
The program has five components:
1. Leadership, Enrichment and Development (L.E.A.D.)
2. Residence Life
3. Student Life
4. Athletics
5. Community Service
